Title: "Get the Led Out"...

A local radio station has a "Get the Led Out" hour every Friday evening where they play an hour straight of Led Zeplin.  On the way home from beer, the radio announces:

"Now taking requests for the 'Get the Led Out' hour.  If your request is played first, you'll get a pair of tickes to the WWF event this Saturday."

For some reason, when I think of Led Zeplin... the WWF never seems to be in the picture.  I wonder what marketing genius managed to put these two together.

That would be the marketing guy with 52,000 left over WWF tickets sitting on his desk.  ;)

Both are attractive to 20 year old guys wearing mullets and baseball t-shirts.

Rocket 106 FM has a "Get the Led Out" beginning at 10:00 PM every night...lasts about an hour.:)

every 'classic' rock station has 'get the led out' - they are all owned by the same conglomerate & they all play elton john, which is neither classic nor rock

KGON rocks.  It's the only radio station that hasn't changed for 20+ years.  "Get the Led out" is nice but "Two for Tuesday" is better. :)

the only problem with classic rock stations is that now, the crapy mid-80's music that I was avoiding is concidered 'classic'.  there has got to be some other test besides how long a song has been around to get the lable 'classic'.

but kgon is about the best thing we got going. even if they do drop in some real POS songs into the classic catagory from time to time.

i actually heard them play 'under the milky way' by the church...a sappy tune from '88

yep, only a couple more years and 'wham' and 'flock of seaguls' will be 'classic' :rolleyes:

I think the only criteria anymore is 15 yrs old.
