Someone on this board COULD?

I can and I do... job requirement...
No, I'm not happy about it.
-
A little info about what you do or what kind of qualifications or experience you have would be helpful. I am in the DFW area, and the company I work for has several different departments and a couple of them usually are hiring at any given time.

One suggestion is that if any of those jobs were through a temp agency.. say so. Not many employers like to see a 1 year per job average of the last 7 years. If its through a temp agency, they'll understand. If not... well... there are others aplying that don't have as many frequent stops.

Yeah, I can pass a drug test including hair sample. I find it hard to believe that so many are so dependant on a substance to get through life. It makes me feel sorry for them that they are so lacking in self worth that they need something artificial to feel good about themselves. Pretty pathetic IMO.
-
Heya Mav, sorry for the flippant response, I met nothing personal by it and was referring to some of the crazy posts I read. FWIW I also could pass a drug test and I'm reasonably sure more here could pass one that couldn't.
-
im entitled to have a beer, drink of wine just like i am to take a break and relax to hit some buddah. i dont depend on them to relax, i just do it like i would do any other thing ..like playing AH, its just one of many hobbies i do. Studies have shown ppl who drink beer or any kind of alcohol moderatly are less likely to have heart disease. Also ppl with multiple sclerosis and some other diseases can benefit from smokin some marijuana. There just like the drugs you can buy at save-on or any pharmacy use or abuse as you please.
-
i can pass a drug test anyday... or i could just apply to be a security guard in my area they dont test .. then again i have a job so im set for a while.
-
having to pass drug tests sucks, having to apply for jobs sucks and having to interview is the grand suck-ola.
the worst is bustin yer arse making deals that you know net some vp $20-30k bonuses while you get barely more than that in a year.
work for your self if you can- you'll never want to go back :)
-
I've never been showered with corn where I work.
-
you left out one thing on your resume:
Hobbies:
Illegal Drug User - will try to beat test :)
gl bud
-
...peripheral interfaces specific to the
hospitality industry ...
I'ts a little far out, but I think Vulcan might be interested :D
-
I can pass any drug test as well.
Hasn't help me get a job though.
-
Just for the record here my previous post about passing a drug test
was posted because I did smoke a joint on new years eve
and I had a potential job lead which may have tested me .
I am not able to drink alchohol as I am sure so many of you who posted negativley Did on new years eve , due to a liver ailment.
I Dont smoke every day or even every month just on occasion
and I do believe if we look at statistics
you could honestly say that
deaths from driving drunk are much higher than driving while high on pot
Ive never smoked so much that I puke or was sick half the next day
Ive never heard of anyone dying from a pot over dose .
Honestly I dont care what all of the people who posted ICANPASSAPISSTESTIMSOPROUD friggin care not every job worrys about what you do on your own time so long as the job gets done .
-
Good luck with your job search. I say "luck" because in my line of business, we take great pains to find drug users and kick them out. Sometimes it's unfortunate as we'll lose a hard worker with an addiction, but the flying business and drugs don't mix even when it's during "off duty" time.
I honestly hope you find a safe and non-critical job because I sure as hell wouldn't want to risk my bellybutton at mach 2 riding code you've worked on.
Nothing personal, I just value my skin more than I value your desire to do drugs.
-
My corporation sure does.
Honestly I dont care what all of the people who posted ICANPASSAPISSTESTIMSOPROUD friggin care not every job worrys about what you do on your own time so long as the job gets done .

Dude the guy smoked one joint. Have you ever smoked a joint? It's not so big a deal. No bigger than getting drunk.
-
Funked-
I assume you weren't directing that at me?
-
I apologize to slipping in to California dialect. I was using the plural form of dude. :)
-
Ah! That would be "Dudes!"
Anyway... it doesn't matter how I feel about it, my corporation would fire me in a heartbeat... along with anyone even remotely connected to kids (including janitors, grounds keepers, office personnel, you name it). It ain't just about the work getting done here.
-
No, you can use "dude" to address multiple dudes. I told you it was local dialect. :)

Agreed Funked, but two points if I may-
1) Drug testing is a fact of life and, unfortunately, the pot test tells your pot history for the previous three or four weeks instead of on the job performance and
2) If Rickod says he's a casual user who can either take it or leave it then why in the world would he smoke dope knowing he might have to take a drug test???
I have a bit of advice for the drug users among us- Quit doing your drug of choice for three months. If YOU control IT instead of IT controlling YOU then this shouldn't be a problem. If you CAN'T quit, then I'm afraid it IS a big deal Funked...at least as big of a deal as someone who can't put down the booze and is drunk almost every day.
-
I'm not saying addiction isn't bad (it is), I'm just saying having one doobie is no worse than getting drunk on New Years eve. Neither is a sign of addiction.
1) Drug testing is a fact of life and, unfortunately, the pot test tells your pot history for the previous three or four weeks instead of on the job performance and
Actually the test he took was an oral swab that only works for about 24 hours. It's pretty much a test to see if you are high at the time of the test, the ultimate sign of an addict.
2) If Rickod says he's a casual user who can either take it or leave it then why in the world would he smoke dope knowing he might have to take a drug test???
Either he didn't know or he ate too many Tard Flakes that morning.
-
Obviously Funked has a problem and is in denial about it!
I think he should QUIT his addiction!!
BTW, his addiction(s) is for bad football teams :), really, I mean really, ugly cars, wanting to look like sling.........
That's just to get it started...please feel free to add....

hey good luck gettin that job .. they usually give you a choice on what type of test they do urine or hair ..i never heard of oral test before but urine is the best choice because there are many products out there ya prolly know that flush the sheet outta ya.
-
My biggest addiction is farting. At least I recycle.
-
"Have you ever taken a Drug Test?"
Best anwser you can give.. "Yeah.. I passed 'em all. They came back 'positive'. They wanted me to take 'em again, but changed their minds when I toejam in the lil cup."
Riko.. hope you find work.. but try not to let 'em get your name into the system as a 'user'. I'd advise against submitting to any further testing citing right to privacy considerations unless you are certain you can pass a drug test.
Good Luck!

holy "spit-takes" batman....:D
i love to use 'dude ' in the "implorative" personally: dude!
-
totally, dude.
-
I think you can use it to address several people if it's standing in for the word "Look"
or in canadian that would be
"say"
or in british
"I say"
Anyone have the accepted uses of "Dude" booklet handy?

Drugs generally aren't good. Casual use can easily become an addiction.
Having said that, i disagree with Mavericks assessment that drug users are sad, lonely pathetic individuals who need drugs to be comfortable.
I use occasionally and it's most for destressing or some escapism. I also use soccer on TV, skydiving, scuba diving, rock climbing and tennis for the same.
Fortunately, drug tests are relatively rare here. I do expect to have one if I get a second interview though, due to the job characteristics. I oppose using them for 'general' non critical jobs though.
-
Never touched any drugs. Never will.
IMO people who do drugs do so for a reason, they are missing something in their lifes.

not a good sign, it doesn't matter what you use (alchohol, tobacco, drugs). if you are using it for an escape you are setting yourself up for an addiction problem.
I've known alot of people addicted to alot of different substances (it's the neiborhood). and every one of them (that I know well enough to know the cercomstances) used for that reason.
even with the harder drugs most who use for recreation or celibration rarely become addicted.
but those who use for escape are setting up a trap- you use to escape stress, you do dumb things while high in a situation thats already screwed up, these mistakes make your life more stressfull, so it takes more of your crutch to overcome the stress (and more often), wich causes more stress by more mistakes, .........
on the other hand I've seen people do occasional recreational use of some of the hardest drugs out there for 20 years or more without ever becoming addicts.

I smoked pot at uni, and I tried acid once. The latter made me very ill (I must have vomited for hours), and kind of put me off the former. I still drink a fair bit when I socialise though, no where near as much as I did when I was a student, however. The drugs I take to control epilepsy stop working if I drink to excess.
I don't think pot smoking is any different to drinking. I also believe you can be well adjusted and in control and still do both.

Maverick is a retired cop who spent a career dealing with dregs on the street. I don't know about the sad and lonely part, but the pathetic handle seems spot on to me.
-
I have tryed almost all type of drugs (with exception of crack and the newest chemical mix, like exctasy), when younger.
But I stopped 10 years ago, I am an addict?
Well, I still use some good wine, not in excess...
but it is'nt a drug... or not?
;)
Maverick, how would you classify me.
a) a sick and pity being, deserving an immediate suppression
b) a stoopid young becomed a sick adult, just some year of prison.
c) a decadent european
d) all the above
P.S.
I am an addict, specifically an AH addict, anyone know how can I pass a AH-addiction test?
-
Naso it sounds like you were a kid and you just grew up is all.
-
I was lucky to not have met people like Mav....
So I had possibility to grow up.
1) Addiction in itself it's not a crime, it's a disease.
2) An addicted criminal it's a criminal.
3) An addicted it's an human being needing help.
4) An addicted it's not necessarly a criminal.
Mix the above 4 sentences.

I guess it's all a manner of perspective Naso. As a teen in the 60s I was involved with petty brushes with the law and it was a cop I respected who got me heading on the proper path. So I guess I could say-
