there is only one flying version of the spitfire 2 seat trainer but unfortunately i cant remember the owners name.

I know the present owner is a woman and she flies in british airshows like duxford. Her husband started the restoration but unfortunately died but she bravely continued the restoration by herself then even learned to fly it herself!

theres bound to be information about her at duxford museum.Perhaps they have a website ? As she restored it im sure you'll be able to find many pictures of it.Usually they put them up on websites when they are trying to get investors etc.

anyhow thats where id start looking.

theres a two seater spit@tillamook air musuem (http://www.tillamookair.com/) on to OR coast, but it is not M.IX UTI, it is MkVIIIc (s/n MT818 - i think it was converted to two seater post WWII, but havent been out to TAM for a couple years, so maybe i dont remember correct) & is airworthy....some pix:

much bigger versions of the last two (& T-28, Hispano HA-1112M [spanish 109]) @ http://home.attbi.com/~rons.archive/TAM1/index_6.htm

I think there is like 2 of them in Great Britain, thereoff 1 in Wales.
Check out IWM's website (Duxford part) and look carefully, If my memory serves me there is a link to some information about the double seater there.
I was fortunate enough to see one flying in 1998, - it was a special display for Icelandic fighter Ace Tony Jonsson who was visiting at the moment (together with a busfull of drinking mates, hehe). I remember that the British Pilot's name was John Romain.
Anyway, here is a picture of the plane, and then old Tony sitting in the cockpit. Enjoy :)

Also caught the Pilot, John Romain together with his steed.
How do you get to fly a Spitfire I asked. It's a long and hard way he answered.
