You might want to look around! I think with ALEINWARE you pay for a name and a "cool case"

I actually got an alienware system about 8 months ago. Don't regret the expense at all. System has worked perfect, never one crash. Mine was the Blue Area 51 model, looks cool. I think AKDeja bought alienware system if I am not mistaken.

I had been looking at them for some time. They started selling them in Best Buy, I think you still just ordered from Alienware through Best Buy. At the time I got mine, Best Buy was selling Demos because Aleinware was putting new Demos on the shelf. They had like 50 demos in warehouse, never used. It cost $1500, if I priced same system on Alienware it was over $2000.

Specs on mine:

Pent IV 2.4
512 Rd Ram
nvidia ti500 card
win xp

I also got nice NEC 19" monitor for $200 if bought when buying the system which was a pretty good deal.

Truth be told, my WIFE actually bought the system for me for my birthday.

For me, I have never built a system & didn't have desire to. I know probably could have got cheaper system elsewhere, but this is very good quality, never had a problem, very solid machine. Don't regret the cost at all.

I have not had a single problem with mine... and posted the best 3DMark results for a Ti-4600 on the bbs.

I really liked the "small form factor" hybrid. I hope this is a direction more manufacturers are going to explore.

I bought an Alienware box 18 months ago.  Went through 2 Asus A7M266 mb first year.  First one, no questions asked.  They Fedexed a new mb and a 400W Sparkle PSU and a contracted tech replaced them in my home.  I was impressed.  Second one six months ago, I had to fight them and threaten an "on site" lawsuit to make them honor my "on site" warranty.  I got them to replace it with their then current MB, an Asus A7N266C Nforce board.  Been workin great ever since.

It kinda soured me on OEM warranty, so I sent that box to Guam and built the box below for bout $1500 six months ago.:)

im using the same "tower" right now .... from Chieftech

but i will ALLWAYS build my own PC .... then i know who's to blame and why for anything that goes wrong. (like my smoking @ the PC burnung out the fans on 2 power supplies and thus overheating the MB  )
