Boy I am beginning to hate computers.
My system: e machine "etower 500is"
Intel celeron, mmx, 500mhz
160MB Ram
Every time i click on the runway to take off I get booted back to desktop. Works fine offline.
This machine used to have for a video card ATI 3D rage Pro (atir3) which was integrated graphics. I had it disabled and had ATI Radeon 7000 vid card installed, about 6 months ago. This worked great, however my FR recently took a significant drop, so I went looking for a new driver. I uninstalled the old driver (version 4.13.9009) and installed the new driver from ATI's web site (version 4.13.9031). This is when the boot to desktop started.
So far I have:
reinstalled windows (W98SE)
reinstalled Radeon 7000 software
uninstalled and reinstalled drivers ( both old and new)
uninstalled and reinstalled AH
Tried every combination of video set up in AH that I can think of
I know i messe dup somewhere, but not sure where.
HELP! (and TY in advance)

did you do these things in this order:
1. install OS
2. update DX
3. install device drivers
might try it if you didn't
-
yep sure did Furious, thanks though.
I am sure I have done something dumb, but not being computer savy, I cant seem to figure out what i did that was bad.
I'll keep plugging away.

is the integrated card disabled again?
-
well, I think so Furious. It shows up in device manager with a red X through it, and I do remember checking a box somewhere that said "disable", but can't remember where i found that. Very limited computer knowledge here, that, coupled with frustration, has me ready to throw the thing through a window. Man, sure would like to go fly and kill something besides a drone.
Thanks Furious

Try and disable the integrated video in the bios.

Okay, I am serviceable.
Ended up reformatting HD and reinstalling windows.
FR are still on the low side but playable.
Still a work in progress, but at least I can fly now. :D
Thanks for the input folks, was appreciated.
