Title: Spitfire, aging?
Post by: SpinDoc1 on January 16, 2003, 10:32:31 PM
I don't have any experience in aging photos or toying with them. Anyone have any suggestions of what programs to use and how to best age them? Also, if anyone has examples of this photo being aged, I'd appreciate, thanks!

Thanks for the complements frank! Actually we are at the US Air Force Academy, it's a squad composed of only cadets here that fly AH. So no offense, we appreciate the offer, but for now the school is a prerequisite!

Consider it a loose aerial cable or refraction of the perspex canopy.  As far as "aging pics"... I use PaintShop Pro7, which has a ton of bells and whistles, with the benefit of not needing to be a scientist to use.  This smal sig was whipped up in a couple minutes.

Turning to a B&W print with 'speckling' for poor film processing control is easy as point and click.  If you want to AGE the film, work with the colors to get half/tones, tin-type, or sepia quality, (that looks more brownish).;)
PSP7 is from JASC software.... They had a sale on last month with rebates from CompUSA for the cost of $20 USA...

(pic coming soon as I get home) :o

Man at work I got like 23 of them.  Each one asking if I wanted to install MacroMedia...  (shudders)

Couldn't add my sig pic to the previous one.  I think Squadvid's pic is closer to 'real' camera look.

try looking for an older version of Paint Shop Pro, that's an excellent graphics package and can be used to do "anything" with pictures
