Title: Video Memory Cache Ques?
Post by: sprint on January 17, 2003, 09:59:02 AM
I'm using a  ASUS TUV4X MOBO and a GAINWARD GeForce 3 Ti200 video card..

What do I choose in the bios ?.. the USWC or the UC mode???

My manual says this:

USWC (uncacheable, speculative write combining) is a new cache technology for the video memory of the processor.  It can greatly improve the display speed by caching the display data.  You must set this to UC (uncacheable) if your display card does not support this feature, otherwise the system may not boot.  Configuration options.  [UC]  [USWC]

If you have a Gforce cards use USCW and AGP fast write and a AGP aperture size of 128 (if possible)

Not so fast on that fast write capability on GeForce Cards.  Some do not support it.  CHeck the instructions or go to website to check on fast write capabilities.
