To think of what Lott went thru. Were's the media outcry?
This man is running for President!!!
1987: Sharpton spreads the incendiary Tawana Brawley hoax, insisting heatedly that a 15-year-old black girl was abducted, raped, and smeared with feces by a group of white men. He singles out Steve Pagones, a young prosecutor. Pagones is wholly innocent - the crime never occurred - but Sharpton taunts him: ''If we're lying, sue us, so we can ... prove you did it.'' Pagones does sue and eventually wins a $345,000 verdict for defamation. To this day, Sharpton refuses to recant his unspeakable slander (''Never, ever!'') or to apologize for his role in the odious affair.
1991: A Hasidic Jewish driver in Brooklyn's Crown Heights section accidentally kills Gavin Cato, a 7-year-old black child, and anti-Semitic riots erupt. Sharpton races to pour gasoline on the fire. At Gavin's funeral he rails against the ''diamond merchants'' - code for Jews - with ''the blood of innocent babies'' on their hands. He mobilizes hundreds of demonstrators to march through the Jewish neighborhood, chanting, ''No justice, no peace.'' A rabbinical student, Yankel Rosenbaum, is surrounded by a mob shouting ''Kill the Jews!'' and stabbed to death.
1995: When the United House of Prayer, a large black landlord in Harlem, raises the rent on Freddy's Fashion Mart, Freddy's white Jewish owner is forced to raise the rent on his subtenant, a black-owned music store. A landlord-tenant dispute ensues; Sharpton uses it to incite racial hatred. ''We will not stand by,'' he warns malignantly, ''and allow them to move this brother so that some white interloper can expand his business.'' Sharpton's National Action Network sets up picket lines; customers going into Freddy's are spat on and cursed. ''We're going to see that this cracker suffers,'' says Sharpton's colleague Morris Powell. On Dec. 8, one of the protesters bursts into Freddy's, shoots four employees point-blank, then sets the store on fire. Seven employees die in the inferno.

Say it aint so!
Ya think ya know someone.... Are there no more heroes?

Sharpton is a racist, but your post is the worst kind of yellow journalism. You don't have to draw dubious connections to show that Sharpton shouldn't be an elected official.
Elected Official! Hey! Wasn't Lott a member of the government? Didn't he swear to uphold the constitution?

Tahgut
What did Lott do that was against the constitution?
-
How can we read what the Constituion says?
Since President WASA wiped his bellybutton with it the text is no longer readable.

Weeeeeeasellle, you still squelching me?
The have copies of it, not to worry. I'm pleased your crack staff of internet reporter sources was able to uncover what the brown smudges were.

But I do ignore you. :D

this sounds more like an anti black rant than anti donkey...to be fair to al sharpton, his only fault in the Tawana Brawley case was believing a liar. i wonder how many blacks have gotten arrested because someone told a lie about them - bet they got 25 years...Byrd, even if he only accounted for his fair share (0.5% or 1 part in 535, depending on how you calculate it) of pork is tons more offensive that all sins in the original post conbined

When someone makes a good arguement like Fatty, you take the path of least resistence and simply ignore him? Typical lazy Liberal. :D
-
Sharpton is a degenerate and a disgrace... But I agree with him 100%. It must be as terrible as he says to be Black in America if your most respected leaders are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
-
I don't see an argument from fatty...only a question that I answered.
When fatty posts something interesting or that I want to add my opinion to I'll answer him.
Unlike so many others here fatty is intelligent and IIRC correctly an attorney which makes him a handful to argue with, so I reserve the right to battle him when I see fit.
It's more fun playing with dumb chimpites than fatty. :p

sharpton is by far the least offensive black leader, he gets only bad press coverage (i've seen him on meet the press twice in the last few months both time Tim Russert [supposedly a liberal] did a hatchet job on him and in the next segment played softball w/ a GºP official). probably most of what is known about him by readers of this board comes from listening to rush limbaugh. i consider sharpton the best major party 2004 pez candidate so far (not that i would vote for him)
