I am having technical problems with this board. Dont happen with any other bbs or webpage.
If I read a thread, and come back to the bbs and there are new posts, I click on the thread and there are only the number of posts I had read before. For example, after I post this, some of you studmuffins will reply to this message and I wont be able to read your post.
I try deleting all my temporary internet junk, going to Internet Options on IE.5 and pressing DELETE FILES, and still, no do. All other pages are deleted from the hard disk, but the threads from this bbs stay the same. If I click reload, it reloads the images but the quantity of posts remain the same.
I dont know why I write this when I will probably will not be able to read your replies and I will never be able to fix this and I will stay in limbo, knowing that some of you posted the solution to my problem yet I will never be able to read it; I will get depress and download asian porn.

This came from a United Airlines pilot:
The German controllers at Frankfurt Airport are infamous for being a short tempered lot. They not only expect you to know your parking location but also how to get there without any assistance from them.
So it was with some amusement that we (United 747) listened to the following exchange between Frankfurt ground control and the pilot of a British Airways 74(callsign Speedbird 206).
Speedbird: "Good morning Frankfurt, Speedbird 206, clear of the active."
Ground: "Guten morgen, taxi to your gate."
The BA 747 pulls onto the main taxiway and stops.
Ground (brusquely): "Speedbird, do you not know where you are going?"
Speedbird: "Standby ground, I'm looking up the gate location now."
Ground (with typical German impatience): "Speedbird 206, have you never
been to Frankfurt before?"
Speedbird (coolly): "Yes, several times in 1944, but I didn't stop."

Its call a Transparent Inline Cache. Most likely at the ISP you use. (people like Compaq, Cobalt, Cisco, etc make em). Its sort of like a forced proxy server.
I have the same problem.
Basically this little sucker sits at your ISP and caches ALL HTTP traffic flying through, this cuts down the data they pump through and therefore cuts costs. In theory they are supposed to refresh the pages automatically and intelligent - but we all know about theories and technology.
So for all you guys that gave animal toejam about his Refresh button... DUH - hope u feel silly now.

If you are using IE 4 or 5, see if this option is selected:
- go to tools and select Internet Options
- on the General Tab, click the Settings button in the section marked Temporary Internet Files
- Make sure you have the button checked next to where it says "Every Time you visit page" (Check for newer files)
That might take care of the problem unless your ISP is caching pages for ya.

I have the same problem too with IE5. If I hit refresh it just goes straight back to the main Forum page, not the topic (only happens occasionally). Often it takes 5 mins or more to update. Netscape on the other hand is almost instant.

Try using above link . Most BB boards don't have "three" adds at the top that rotate . Might be part of the problem , read his post again , he stated "Dont happen with any other bbs or webpage"
Hope it helps ,
cheers spro

Check the size of the temporary internet .dat file, even after you "empty" the files thru Windoze the dat file will not be deleted. If it gets larger than 256k it causes IE to slow down and also can cause browser crashing.
The *only* way to delete temp internet files completely is in DOS mode. The following tells how to do this but if used incorrectly can cause serious windoze problems,I`m not responsible if you screw it up. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
Restart in DOS mode,at the C:windows prompt type the following exactly:
deltree c:windows empor~1
You will get the confirmation prompt:
warning delete c:windowsTEMPOR~1 Y/N?
The upper case TEMPOR~1 shows which folder will be deleted, hit Y and enter.
You can also delete all cookies and history files this way, when Windows restarts it will build new folders for these directorys.

Animal, you got a cute girlfriend, a Corvette, a Latino accent.
Stop your whining.
Now.
Or I will be forced to track you down and kill you.

this might be not that simple problem that you should laugh for it.
I have similar problem at times from another ISP, that routes web traffic through cache server automaticly.
Sometimes I don't get that newer page to show up even if I press refresh couple of times...
..although, when I click that refresh button in a row for few times, I finally get newer page to show up.
So.. Animal, just try click that 'refresh' button few times in a row if one doesnt help (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

whoopeeit I fixed it!
Props to Vulcan and Fishu, the only smart people who replied to this thread.
It was the ISP thing.
Oh and Santa: when you track me down, before you kill me, will you do me the honor of taking a trip with me to the beach and doing our old idea of LSD+SCUBA-DIVING.
The mermaids, dude!
dude!

LOL Animal
Sounds like THE way to go; drowning screwing a big fish you mistake for a mermaid (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif).
-
I once humped a very docile shark, dont know their name in english.
I have also humped a dolphin. It was quite funny I may have pics around.
I wasnt on any drug tho so it doesnt count; you really have to believe its a mermaid to hit the jackpot and join our pals down there (Hendrix, Morrison, Ghengis Khan, Ghandi, Judas, Nixon, and RAM)
-
If You hold down the shift key while clicking refresh it makes your browser rerequest dns lookup and refreshes the page from the source regardless of the isp's caching
-
MSIE ?
CONTROL + CLICK ON REFRESH !
Have a good day
