He's standing behind the car so you can't see his huge erection. :)

This is just plain silly. How fast can you go in this thing on a highway?
55/65/75 MPH? so can I :)

Yes, a mid-life crisis :D
-
Mietla
I can go as fast as I dare , I might get a ticket. So can you...difference is this car does it with a bit more ease and style than your Beater Honda Civic 3 banger. It also corners on rails..Also better than that beater VW 1969 micro bus Van with the lil daisies on it and that peace sign. This car has 350 HP versus your 85.....So...Id say that this car is prolly just a tad more prettier and sporty than your 1972 Pinto. It has an FM radio...Not just an AM...It has a CD player...not 8 track.
Username...
Maybe a lil midlife crisis..I just turned 40..BUT..I have wanted a Corvette since age 14...Now after many years of hard work and what nots I have it. AND IT IS FRIKIN SWEEEEEETTTTTT.:p
XNachoX....You are SO correct Bud:cool:
-
No..Its used. 1999. cost....30k
-
Nice Midlife Chrysler.
How come meitla owns so many vehicles?
-
nice car!
so why are you wasting your precious driving time on this bbs? git out there! :D
-
Just pulling your chain. Congrats :)
-
Mietla.....just pullin a lil to...hehehehehehehehe
wish I was out driving it.....but alas...I am at work. But man it was sweet today...80 degress..Top off..sunny...and Bose Stereo a crankin a bit of AC/DC It was quite nice driving around Austin before work.
-
That is a wicked automobile VFJACKAL. Bit of a vette enthusiast myself. You wanna drive it fast? Take it to a track. Those are great to slalom in as well. I've only slalomed C3's, but the C5's do just fine and even better at the track. I'm saving up for a Z06 one day, or if possible, whatever performance C6 model they eventually come out with. Either that or a 65-67 BB :) Sweet ride man, enjoy it, and drive it like ya stole it! Any mods?
-
Congrats! Love the color combination - she's a stunner! :D
-
Im trying to keep it pretty stock as far as performance goes. Mietla does have a point. I can go as fast as I want to (been 162 mph in 3 of them) but it was 2 in the morning and a ticket would have been nothing compared to jail.
I would like some chrome Z06 Wheels for it tho. Maybe do some interior mods to it. Speakers and stuff. We'll see how it goes. Not in any hurry . I have it now and can take my time with it.
I tell you what though...When driving 50 and stopming that pedal only to have the bellybutton end break loose (cause I forgot to hit the Traction Control Button)It is one awsome feeling.
Laters:D
-
Man, nice car - beautiful paint. Stoplight to stoplight, I'd have ya tho...
-
Nice car.. tell me it has a clutch.
lazs
-
No Sorry buddy...Sad to say it's an Automatic. Since wife is gonna drive it (a few times) she sort of said no 6 speed. I wanted one but I couldn't see her dumping the clutch and doing about 5 donuts before she knew what happend. She can drive a stick..But this 350hp is a bit different than that Honda she used to have.
It still scoots on command tho.
-
The Terrorists thank you! (Answering for Hawk) ;)
Seriously, nice car!
-
You waited 26 years to buy the car of your dreams after all that hard work, and then bought an automatic because you wife might drive it?
XnachoX, tell him again the “ It’s all about style” part.
Sheesh!
(It's a sweet ride already, not sure why the auto tranny makes a diffrence, but don't let Laz bait you into clam whipped excuses.)
-
I never bait anyone.
lazs
-
Didnt figure you would do that. hehehehehehehe
Still tho....a 6 speed would have been nice, but I have NO regrets what so ever getting an automatic. Today on the way to work , I SMOKED a Z28 off the line...COurse he missed a gear bad...SO..It does have its advantages for us older uncordinated guys. LOL;)
-
The GM 200R auto trans is imho, a great unit. Stiffen em up a bit and it's wheelie time..
-
when I get that old... I will have the kid down the street drive me around.
lazs
-
LOLOLOL I am pretty near that old but I can still drive - my cousin has a ERA Cobra, sometimes I drive that :)
-
Speaking of that...Took my 81 year old grandmother for a ride in the Vette with the top off. She was worried about getting to much air so I went slow around the block a couple times. She was just smiling and waiving at her friends in the retirment village.
And to quote her after the ride...she said...."Jeffy...That is a sweet ride and after all you have done your lil wife and you deserve it. But don't ever think Mama is gonna go more than around the block in it with you. At my age 40 mph is fast enuff" LOLLOLOL:)
-
Jackal that is one sweet ride man.
I would love to have a z06 but fer now i will have to live with this LOL
-

the nissan z is pushing 280 horses and does about 14.04 secs in a quarter mile,,i would have had anuff time to stop and crack open a beer by the time you caught up too me,,lol<~~its fast for a jap car,,and its kinda cool looking,,,but it has a price of 34,000 dollors,,lol,,i got about 9,000 into my hole car,,and preformance wise,,my double wide will take your jap car out to lunch,,,,some people really think that the jap cars are faster,,,there wrong, and they watch the fast and furious too many times,,lol,,fastest stock car still made to this day,,is a 1965 ac cobra,,will go up too 100,,back down to zero,,in 13secsIf ya can a reed thar jed clampeet its won o them thar new fangled nissan 350z cars

-
I was seriously looking at those at one time not to long ago. They look great !!!! Congrats on YOUR new ride as well. This Vette is just amazing. Maybe not the fastest thing on the road...But it ain't far behind.
Hyena...Keep that thing man...youll make a few bucks on it for sure. 400 ponies? man thats stout and by the way...I am FAR from rich. Just got a great deal on the car. Im just a lowly lil supervisor at the state.
:) ;)
-
i know,,i wont ever let it go,,i have people stop by atleast once a week tring to buy it,,im going to hang a sign on it saying,,NOT FOR SALE!!
and thats cool you got a good deal on it,,if one came up cheap my way,,i would latch onto it too:)<~~vets are very nice cars,,we have owned afew of them,,older ones,,we had a 1984 lt1 350 vet,,was very nice,,me and my dad restore old cars and run them in cool desart nights and othere rodder events,,we had one 51 merc we owned made it in northwest rodder mag,,,we have a 50 ford coop,,,a studabaker pickup,,a 1962 herse,,too many to list,,,working on old cars is fun,,my red mustang is one we worked up,,and i just couldnt let it go,,lol
yup,,my 351 stock was pushing 330 horses,,i put bigger cam,,hooked the ram air up,,put 12:1 keith black piston in it,,,,but it tings if i run cheap gas,,,i have to run 92 and above octang,,and add octang boost in it,,lol,,,then it runs like a baby,,lol,,and its hard to grab anything from my dash when i step into it,,lol
-
Nice cars.
:D
-
Beauty RC! If they'd have made it with a backseat, I'd consider one! I love the new RX8's too, have you seen them?
-
Been wanting a 1981 vette for a long time, and by the time the kids grow up and I ditch the SUV, there won't be any left.
Congrats on the new ride.
-
just kiddin ya vf... nice vette.. The only vette I ever owned was a '59 I built from a wreck and I did a lot of driving in a buddies 65 flip top 427 that we pumped up a little. It is not hard to get new vettes into the 12's these days on regular pump gas.. they can easily be made to do everything better than any mach anything mustang or my elky for that matter... and do it in comfort. I admit to being behind the times but I have fun and I like the comraderie of the old cars. As for a stick... Driving is an adventure in the older cars like mine.... might as well make it as enjoyable as possible... plus ... I like to see peoples faces when I tell em the old '69 is a 6 speed. not to mention.... I can have a lot of fun in first and second without breaking the speed limit tooo bad... "what? I was just shifting into second officer... I will try to hold it down tho thanks".

Isn't a 'real' sports car with an automatic illegal?
it should be
-
Very nice 350Z, rc51, very nice. I love the new Z's. Not a fan of red, myself, but if it was red or nothing, I'd damn well take the red!
How much did it cost you?
-
Thats great that 2nd gear thing. LOL A lady up the street has a 2000 Vette. These things go from 0-60 in 4.5 seconds as long as the traction control is on. Otherwise your doing 60 in one spot ruining 700.00 worth of tires. Anyway she said she was at a stop light on FM620 (highway here) and was first in line. Light changed and she went 0-60 in the alloted 4.5 secs or so. There was a sherriff across from her , and he promptly stopped her. She never spun her tires , and told the officer that the car was just fast. He laughed at her so hard and let her go. He told her next time , she WILL get a ticket. I found that funny anyway.:)
-
Sure. Would a 66' Nova that runs 8.8 in the 1/4(8.3 with NOS)be fast enough to beat you?
-
8.8? what do you got a 454 with over 20,000 invested into the motor?,,,i know the cheapist power plant to build over 500 horse power is a 454,,a 350 is the cheapest to build to about 400,,then it starts costing big bucks,,,,,,i seen one with all forged parts,,with a 1100 horses,<~~had allmost 14,000 invested in the 454 motor alone, and it was expect to only run around high 9's,,,,lol,,anyone runing 8's,,,,allmost needs sponcer!,,lol, and a trailer to hall his rig around,,and fat micky tompsons,,and anuff money too keep that much horsepower runing,,,,bigger badder the motor,,the more money you have to put into it to keep it runing<~~plus it wouldnt be road legal anyways after that,,lol
do you have a tube frame too?,,because if your pushing 8 secs ina 1/4 mile you would of had to reinforce your cars frame,,it would buckle like a cheap peice of paper, lol
-
You boys bring cars like that to Baltimore and park them, then close your eyes for one minute....presto! Just like magic they will disappear!!
Thorns
-
Huh...No Thanks;) Besides...all the vehicles I've had start missing , spitting and sputtering and have a tendency to have transmission problems. It tryies to jump into reverse as soon as it gets North of Dallas. Thats like Yankee Land to my cars. LMAO:D
Just Kidding...Boston (Combat Zone) is the same way. east Providence...Bronx NY.....Hell...east Austin is that way...There are LOTS and LOTS of out of work magicians in the world.
-
vf... true story... Just last weekend I was pulled over on a 2 lane road (55 mph limit).. The CHP was a woman. She was coming the other way but had radar on.. She was behind a car and below a hump in the road. I was behind a jeep that was doing about 35 soooo.... I nailed it fairly hard in second to go around. The CHP only seen me when I was back in my lane. She came around and pulled me over. Said I was doing 74mph. I'm sure I was. I told her "but only till I passed and then I slowed down right?" She said that she hadn't seen me pass anyone but she knew she had to pass the same jeep to get to me so... she just said... "hold it down on this road it's wet out today". No ticket.
My sons stepdad has a new vette.. he wanted my son, who is a mechanic, to darken the lenses on it.. He told my son "don't take the traction control off" My son said "it has traction control? thaniks for telling me" the guy can afford the tires.
Cars are getting to be very fast. Traction control makes the old "exhibition of speed" thing kinda outdated. My car will spin the tires on the freeway if i want it to... not at all dangerous... Why should I get some kinda exhibition of speed ticket? Going through the gears i can keep the tires barely overreving (polite for slightly burning) with as little or less danger than someone with traction control.

I don't follow automobiles, but I didn't think they made Corvettes with manual transmissions...or do they now?
Nice 350Z, or is it ZX? I've always loved the Z's and the first car I could buy was a 280ZX. Totalled that one and then bought another (a 1982) and still have it, though it mainly just sits because I drive my other car for normal stuff.
-
She looks sweet Jackal ... congrat to the happy new owner!
If you go to France, you can race dad:D (not me, I'm forbiden to come even close from his toy... one day, I'll be a dad too).
-

No watermelon it has a 250cc dirt bike motor and a top speed of 140.

Raubvogel: What a fantastic Saab. Is that a manufacturers bodykit?
I bet your car could outrun any of the namby pamby cheese wedges seen so far. Especially with those big exhaust pipes and radical side vents!
:)
VFJackal: Even though it's not an Aston Martin, that is still a sweet looking vehicle, very menacing! Wishing you many happy miles. I'd post a pic of my car, but you'd all laugh at me until I started weeping. :)
-
rc51 I wanna drive one of them. The last cart I drove had twin macs on it. I think it would do about 80 or so. My current go cart is kinda heavy at 2100 lbs.
