Ok so the new system im building for my POPs :
ASUS P4PE
3.06 g Pent 4
1024 DDR2100
ATI 9700 A-I-W
120 WD HD
DVD burner
DVD drive ( to copy DVD's with)
Antec case witrh a 330 Watt PS
ok heres the prob.
i can play AH and all other games fine but as i was going thru all the situations that my POP's might encounter i was opening up a few hard working APP's at the same time and am getting reboots.
AH alone fine
AOL 8.0 reboot
so i got a cheap 400 watt PS thinking this might be the problem
and :
AOL 8.0 works fine
AOL and AH together : reboot
So im thinking that its just the $30 piece of toejam PS i bought and im gonna pick A QUALITY 400 PS tonight and retest this stuff!
Any other suggestions guy?
:D

Get rid of AOL :)
-
wow awesome system.
but you have AOL.
get a 400w PS, Sparkle, Antec or Enermax are good.
-
LOL like i said guys its for my dad and he uses it! (AOL)
ya in gonna buy an ANTEC 400 watt PS tonight
-
Thats too much a system for your dad, give him an E-Machine and take that beast.
-
I agree with Animal.
Besides, with an E-machine there is less to futz up.
I gave my mom a 'real' machine once only to take it back and buy her an 'e' machine. Now I don't have to go over and fix it all the time and I have an extra machine that's actually usefull.

LOL well he would have spent more money buying an HP,Dell or damn GATWAY so he asked me to build it. He actully does have a decent knowledge of computers.
But back to the update!
I picked up a 460Watt enermax last night and the same toejam happend!
But it only happens if im running 2 heavy programs at once!
Im at a loss.
Ive tried all different plug configs
I been looking for a jumper or somthing else that i might have missed
Bios setting too.
Atleast the cheap PS i had yesterday would run Both AH and Veitcong at the same time!
The new one wont even do that !
Skuzzy Anyone help me please i beg of you.........
lol thanks

How many sticks of ram do you have?
If you have more than one, test with both of them separately.. You might have a memory problem that only shows up when you load up enough stuff to populate your ram.
-
theres 2 sticks of DDR 2100 512mg each
But ill try that!

Nevermind, didnt see other post box.
