Title: Caught flying during reset

Question... This is the first time it has happened to me and I would like to be prepared if it happens again.

Last night I got caught RTB when the "ROOKS WON THE WAR" and the map reset leaving me in the heart of nme territory. I was down to 1/4 fuel and had 4+ sectors to go just to bail in friendly territory if required. Then the buffer says 4 minutes to reset, fine, I pick a field and ditch successfully with 2 minutes to spare, but I was captured by a field full of man-eating sheep that appeared to be very protective of their pasture.

The part that hurts is I had no damage, checked and found that I had made 9 kills and 2 assists on that hop that didn't get landed!:mad: because of the reset.

What should have I done, or is it wrong place, wrong time and nothing you can do about it???

PS, before anyone thinks about saying it, no, I didn't take the sheep up on their offer, ROOK sheep not my type, I don't like shaved lamby!:D

Occassionally the Rooks will have a spare C-47 circling so that when we win a reset we can recapture a base again and all land safely.  Sometimes we'll land at a vehicle base if that's all we can get.

I feel fortunate that I have only seen two resets since I started playing.

You should have just kept flying for those 4 minutes. The disco caused by a reset gives a "landed" result.

Yes, and if you actually do run out of fuel, land somewhere 'safe' and wait for the reset. Don't End flight, just wait.

I remember one time, the server said 3 minutes till reset.... almost 10 minutes later... 2 minutes....

try taking out ack at a near by town (next to an airbase) and land there. should get a successful landing. even a vh might work too.

Land near the nearest nme public house,capture the beer and serving wenches,and wait for the reset in style and comfort :)
