Title: XP Lockups General ??

This is a general query. When I get a lock up in XP with AH or any other game, (not that often) usually it needs a complete reset to get the computer started again. No ammount of ctrl-alt-del will get the pc out (in spite of claims for XP) . Aso, when I get the machine up again, there never seems to be any report in any of the logs or alerts to give a clue as to why the lockup. I thought XP was supposed to be better at managing this kind of thing?

Heat, power, or memory issues is where you'll probably find the answer to this problem.

Yea, could be. It's not a huge problem. Last tie I got AH lockups I made a clean reinstall of AH nd it's been fine since.

easy enough, I know some people haven't been that lucky.  guy I work with computer went up in smoke yesterday while we were sitting there watching it. CPU fan failed.
