Same Pongo.
My heart says "GO TAMPA BAY"
My head says "Give 4, take the Raiders"
I'm not betting so I'll be routing TB on to win!
I'm 13 for 14 the last 14 years of predicting SB outcomes. Wish me luck (Last time I lost one was the Bills/Giants)
-
You predicted the Pats last year?
"No one ever ran a 100 dash with someone standing in front of them"- Ty Law - SB XXXVI
-

Hey, its a 50/50 bet! I picked the Ravens the year they were an underdog and picked SF against Denver when SF was a 13 pt. underdog.
Correction: I'm 12-2. I didn't pick last years SB
Well, now I'm 12-2 on the last 14 superbowl predictions! I was rooting NE on, though I'd picked in a gentlemens bet the Rams giving 14! (The Denver/San Francisco Superbowl and 14 points was not a faded memory!)
-
Who gives a flyin f*ck about the game.....
Shania Twain gives some shots at halftime. Thats when Ill tune in.
-
Whats a Super Bowl? Do you eat out of it?

You should ask the Eagles, apparently their's is not filled with Wheaties. :)

Hmmm,...I think the last pro game I watched was Sloppy Bowl 16,..17 maybe....not really sure. It was the last one before the first NFL strike way back when.

Can't say I blame you...NFL, or rather most sports, have turned into Free Agency, Breaking Contracts, Hold outs, show boating, "Me Me Me" Crime and DUI's. Its what Americans love to watch, a live Soap Opera . ;)

You are probably right Rip.
Heck, after I blew off Pro sports, I got into College sports, then it became a cess pool,..so then down to High School Sports, until one day my son comes home from his first varsity football practice with this tub of chemicals the coaches say they have to take.
The stuff contained steroids and that was it for me.
-
Damn, Skuz, that's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard. Did the school endorse that, or was that the coach's own perogative?
SOB
-
SOB, thats pretty typical today. Its still a choice of the student, but the chances that you'll be a first stringer are slim, since others already have an edge on the non-users in performance.
Womens HS sports news 2 years ago in the AMA Journal:
Steroid use among WOMEN in Highschool and college level sports increased 57% in 1999.
-
It was like Rip said. The school knows about it, and when he went back and told the coach he would not take the steroids, the coach kicked him off the team.

Probably? He's 12-2. And didn't pick last years SB!
He's so manly right all the time. Come Monday, he'll have all the stats too.
I'm over laughing at Dripsnore considering his stats, and now, for real, believe.
Just gimme the Super Bowl winner and spread, and the Daytona 500 1st through 5th so i can retire.
Before is a key word, it would be a plus.
-
Rediculous. At that point, it's time for a lawyer. They never made us take drugs to remain on the varsity tennis team. Hmm...I guess they did require us to drink non-alcoholic peach marguiritas, and raise our pinky when we sipped out of a cup tho'. :D
SOB
-
Hehe,..uh Creamo,..back away from the exhaust fumes. :D
I was referring to Rip's post about the Soap opera bit.
-
SOB, you're not familiar with the 'Bubba' legal system we have here in Texas. Football is a sacred cow to the high schools and to the alumini that support them.
You cannot win against them. I probably would have had my house burned to the ground had I done anything to upset that kitty cart.
-
Skuzzy, its a stalkers thing...disregard Creamo, this way we KNOW he's alive still. (I might add that I'm slightly better at predicting superbowls than he is at projecting UAL stock prices)

Wow, goofing on dripsnores 'im right all the time, looky me', made me miss this wacko post.
Gimme the name of your sons school Skuzzy, I'll be thanked by 20/20 and well paid for breaking this insane child abuse drug ring.
That's just WRONG.
-
Well, that just sucks.

My Uncle was a high school varsity football coach (CIF large school division) before getting into the book business. He coached in Southern Calif., then moved to Plano, TX.
He said that the TX schools took it way too seriously, and that the level of play was better in California.
-
Creamo,..my son graduated last year and is a SERE instructor in the Air Force now.
60 Minutes tried to break this story and failed.
You have no idea how well entrenched this is, nor how well supported it is by parents and school administrators alike.
It's all about winning.
-
You wanna know something else? After Ty Law left the Patriots at the end of their Super Bowl run, he came to Tampa Bay because he wanted to play for a team with a legitimate shot at a championship. He was cut from the Bucs the week before the first regular season game.
When an All-Pro corner can't beat either existing cornerback (neither of which have been to a Pro-Bowl) that should say something about the quality of the Bucs defense. In fact, neither one of the Bucs corners are going to the Pro-Bowl this year, either!
-
Oh yeah midnight, Plano is about as bad as Grapevine when it comes to football.
Funny,..Plano and Grapevine share some of the same problems. Like the cafe/gas station near the high schools where the kids can pick up any drug they like and the local cops all know about it, but look the other way, as the parents have too much money to keep the officials in office.
I am just glad my son figured it was not worth it at the young age he did.
-
my, times have changed ...
in the 70's a HS jock had to supply his own drugs :)

Ain't that the truth.

In my day our only body building supplement was Domino's & Budweiser. Run, lift, sit in hot tub with beer & pizza, repeat.
-
...and then the running and liften got left by the wayside. :D
