Is there any way now or in the future that we could make our own 3D damage animations>? explosions, ack burst, etc.

I don't see anywhere where manipulating these files can be done.

I'd REALLY like to take a swing at it as I did in AW.

I'm NOT saying your animations are bad at all. I'm just saying I have some ideas I'd like to try.

Is there an editor available, if so could you please point me in the right direction>?

Simple solution:  Start your own clique.

Look down on everyone else because they're not in your elite group.  You'll feel a whole lot better in no time.

P.S. Just remember this only works if you don't worry that you are the only one in your social circle...  ;)
