Since the worm turned so to speak and I couldn't get a good connect to AH i was left to fix something that was not broken.
I decided (stupidly) to upgrade to Dx9. It installed ok but then of course the trouble started.
I kept getting "virtual memory too low" and the machine acted like it was full of honey. I followed a few of the fixes which resolved the immediate problem of loading. However when i launched Ah. a few minutes later it stopped due to the same problem.
One thing I did notice was that my Frame Rate went up 10% while in the game ( a definate plus). But in desperation I rolled back the update and am back to a status quo. Any ideas on how to fix the "virtual memory too low" problem???
Xp,, AMD +1700, 512 RAM..

go to control panel/syste/ advanced/performance and increase the amounbt of allocated virtual memory. rule is 1.5 the amout of physical memory for initial size, but if you have HDD space put more.
