had about 3 hours to play last night - signed on it was dusk of course - oh well gotta find something to do for an hour til i can see again...maybe salvage a little playing time.
i liked the idea at first but....it might be ok with lanterns at the field or something but in its current incarnation is just a nuisance.
(rude - i expect to be a contestant for your weekly award btw :))

I seem to remember people commenting on something about use of exclamation marks and all letters in caps for it to be considered ;).
I don’t really like it either. Seems like a lot of people log when night comes. It also bugs the crap out of my wife when I forget to turn the bright down :D.

I don't care for the night. It tells me "Time to log." Fortunately it is short or it would tell me "Time to cancel account." HTC aren't dummies. :)

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
buck up, its only 15 minutes long grab a lanc and head for thier HQ.
Personally I like nights, bring on the He219 and Mossie NF Mk??
-
I like the night...but I must admit I revert to a buff since I can't hit toejame at night.
I wouldn't vote to remove it.
Fish...shame on you for starting this thread..you will be flamed in the squad forum :p

well... "sucks" may be a little harsh but.. No, wait, sucks is ok.

I love the night life
I love to boogie...
Ahhhhh never mind.
Night time is the right time
'cause
The freaks come out at night
The freaks come out at night

I actually like fighting at night...put in a Mossie nightfighter and an He-219 A-6 or A-7!
-
everyone in my squad logs at night it sux

When the sun sets my Me262 comes out to play. :D

Nighttime is a challenge, you either rise to it or you don't.
Its a whole new ballgame in some respects.
Can be fun, can be terrifying, can be a great time to sneak in a GV sortie.
-
I personally like the nighttime. Its not so long that it becomes annoying and it adds a dimension of realism that I like. I wish the icons got shorter at night though. You could really pull some sneaky stuff at night then.
-
I like the challenge of fighting at night. Sure does lower my hit ratio though...

Nightime:
Log out for a bit and do one of the following:
1)As soon as the sun shows the faintest hint of setting, order a pizza to enjoy "all night long"
2) Reload the beer cooler, sampling two for temperature and "quality control". (Works well with #1 above.)
3) Spend some "quality time" talking to the wife today's Oprah show, earning a few "brownie points"
4) Take the dogs out for a quick walk; they are always appreciative
5) Load the dishwasher or run the vac over the rugs for MAJOR brownie points.
Then, jump back into AH as the "Sun Also Rises".
I figure HT put it in as an intentional break so we all don't get monitor eyestrain or keyboard/controller wrist problems.

Night sucks.
Make it so its fair to everyone and it wouldn't suck quite so much. But I hate the fact that a lot of guys just turn up their monitor brightness to counteract the darkness. I can't do this.
Why give some players an artificial advantage? I pay as much as the next guy does!
I log at night. Seems like a lot of others do, too. I have yet to hear about someone who logs off when it's "day"--so the right course of action is pretty self-evident.

You whiney little fairy. Close the blinds over your windows, beg wifey to turn off the TV for 15 minutes (I know it's hard to get mistress to obey, but try), and dim the lights. It ain't that bad...no go scrub the latrines some more, I think Gordo has been lurking around lately and you know how he likes to mark his territory!

I don't mind night. It's short and just right IMO. What's porked is the 5 hour sunrise/sunset period where you can't see chit.
-
LOL Toad :)

I'd like 'Night' a lot more if the Icon range was cut down to, say, D2.
-
For a game full of daytime fighters, and no night fighters, I think nighttime is gimmicky. In addition, it's always a disappointment when I log in for a fight or two, and it's dark, or getting dark.

I am still new to AH and as of yet to login when its dark or even see it go dark while online.
Anyone know how often it cycles to night time and how long that lasts? I rather look forward to trying my hand at night flying - I'm always up for a new challenge as shown by the fact that I repeatedly have my head handed to me on a shiny silver platter (well maybe not shiny :) )

OH Cod!! Something I agree with MrFish about. Damn is that the walls I feel shaking?!?!?!?!?!

I quite like the night-time, though I must admit to upping my brightness during the very darkest part of the night, as I find myself crashing into the hills (more than usual!) on take-off in my Lanc... :)
Last night when I was playing I managed to sink a couple of ships during the night... :D OK, I died in the process, but it was fun... :p
-
There are programs you can Download that makes dark game brighter. I used it for DAOC. What it does is takes your setting on your Pc an jumps it to the highest without touching a thing.
The night is still dark but if you use the program and then make yuor brightness full then the night seems better. You will be able to see the mountains.
-
granted...flying at night is more of a challenge...but that's just it: it's a CHALLENGE.
i think night time is great...don't get me wrong...i suck flying at night, but it's still fun. :p
maybe you should ask HTC for some VASI or PAPI lights. either that, or work on your ifr ratings so you can shoot an ILS approach on landings. hehe :p

Night play is cool. Tracers really show up at night. I have no trouble seeing with a red light in the room. Screen is still kinda bright, even then. Gotta turn on a lamp over the keyboard to type though. The sunsets are well worth the night runs. They are beautiful.

Being a touch-typist has its advantages! ;)
