Shania Twain may be hot , but, Gwen Stefano didn't have to marry a record producer to get to the super bowl

At least the American girl sang and didn't lip sync!
Shania wasn't singing... You could tell when she went to shake hands with the crowd and not a single other person was picked up on mic. When Gwen Stefani got just a little too close to the crowd, the mic picked up their screaming.
Tho, Shania does have the better boobs, and they were a-bouncing! :D

The only one who wasn't lipsynching was Carlos Santana. No coincidence, Carlos is a Raiders fan. We may be tards but WYSIWYG. :)

Celine singing "God Bless America" was a horrible casting decision. Sure, she has a good voice, but so does Kelly Clarkson and I think she would've gone over a bit better with the fans - you know, small town Texas girl hits it big and fulfills her dreams; real America- land of opportunity stuff.
Shania Twain didn't really seem to fit, and I don't think it went over well with the people in the stands.
Then again, last year's show with Bono singing "Beautiful Day" while the names of the WTC victims scrolls on two black screens is a tough act to follow.
At least we didn't get "Up With People".

Just read this and thought it was funny. She did not lip sync.....sorta! (http://slate.msn.com/id/2077781/)
For big events, even totally "live" bands have tapes standing by in case of emergency. If, say, Bono's microphone had suddenly failed last year, an engineer in a broadcast truck equipped with an audio mixer would have quickly brought up the sound on a prerecorded version of Bono's vocal track. If the person doing the blend did the job right, the audience would never even notice the glitch. (That explains the moment when Shania ran back to the stage after mingling with the crowd and didn't appear to be singing, even though her vocals came through loud and clear. When Twain took too long getting back to the stage, the mixing engineer likely brought up the prerecorded vocal track, and then took it back down it as Shania started to sing.)
Ummm isn't that the same as lip syncing?

Whitney Houston sorta did the same thing with the Star Spangled Banner with the Florida Orchestra when she was in Tampa for the Super Bowl. They were playing and she was signing, but because of the acoustics, they were playing prerecorded tracks over the loudspeakers.
