Speak now or forever hold your peace.  After tonight I'm focused on the brilliant playoff drives of the Sharks and the Warriors.  Bring it b1tches.

Note I did not bash them in my other thread.  Just wanted to say that the game re-affirmed by stance that Gannon is a "Slightly-above-average" quarterback in an NFL full of mediocracy". (However I picked Oakland to win, I was routing for Tampa, yes Tahgut, I said ROUTING) Thank you. (5 INT'S! )

PS: Oakland has got to be the only town where  a losing SB winner burnt their town down

Well, since you asked.

As my wife said during the game, "Gannon is playing like a girl!"

Geez Rip.... get off the fence for once would ya.  I dont think you have ever picked a game without choosing both sides in this forum.  Much less pick the winner before a game.

Burning and looting...Yeah, thats the American way, blame it on someone else. ;)

"It's the Raiders' fault -- blame it on the Raiders," Akela Thomas, 19, shouted. "If they would've  won, we wouldn't be doing this."

Let me explain.  There are those who bet with their head, and those who bet with their heart.  I bet with my head, not my heart, so my predictions are the ones that say "head".  The "Heart" predictions are the ones that if I was stupid enough to bet money with my heart, then thats who I probably would have bet on, but I do not bet with my heart.

I put it in that format to basically say "If I was a fool that wants to part with his money, I'd bet with my heart....but statistically speaking, this is who will win (head)"  In some cases, my "Heart bet" matches the head bet...its rare..but one must be able to understand the difference if you're going to make money betting.  Trust me, when I bartended, I was very successful with my booky, he hated me. :D

Sorry for the misunderstanding. ;)  And I was perfect on my bets up above for that week I might add ;)

Whatever man.  Most people just pick one team to win.  I guess when you pick them both and try to justify one as "heart" and one as "head" then you can be 100% correct every week.

Nope, last week I posted I was wrong, when I picked the Eagles over Tampa Bay.

To be a successful gambler in sports bets, you HAVE to ask yourself "Who do I WANT to win?" and "Who do I THINK will win?" and then understand what those two terms mean.   Always bet on who you THINK will win, not on who you WANT to win.

Its hard to support a team that scr3ws its fan base like Al Davis does.  The Oakland-Anaheim-Oakland Raiders fans were outnumbered at the Super Bowl by Bucs' fans, not because the Bucs have more fans, but because the Bucs ticket office actually distributed its share of SB tickets to its season ticket holders unlike the Raiders who only distributed 6,000 and sold the rest to Al Davis' select cronies who paid top dollar for them.

Its not like Al needed the money - the Raiders got $8million from the Bucs at the beginning of the season.

Al sold his crowd support to the top bidder, and some of those bidders were Bucs fans, no doubt.  Even the casual football fan got behind the Cinderella-story Bucs after we kicked that 2nd field goal to pull ahead 6-3.

If I was a Raiders' season ticket holder, I'd be p1ssed.

he was outplayed by an FSU QB!  one that rode the pine at FSU!  ;)

Actually, I have nothing against the Raiders, I kinda like them.  However, I adopted the Bucs when I was at FSU (they were the "local team" according to the FOX affiliate in Tallahassee) so I pulled for the Bucs in every game they play in except when they play my "home" team.  Heh, gotta love it, Bucs when the Super Bowl, yet my 'Aints beat them twice!

oh, as for the rioting...  and we make fun of soccer hooligans!  Sheesh, at least they riot against the OTHER team's fans and don't tear up their OWN town.  ;)

FunkedUp, I don't like the raiders because you root for them.  Its pretty much the same reason I don't like the Texas Longhorns (Lance is my biatch).

Ripsnort, the only prediction that I heard in regards to the Superbowl that was accurate was by SOB.  He predicted that no matter what the outcome, you'd try to say that you picked it all along.  He was the only person to be 100% right.

No rip... I wasn't banned.  I changed my ID.  As for being associated with SOB... I'll definately take that as a compliment.  If you intended it as an insult, I have to believe you've never met him before.  I seriously doubt I'd say the same about you.

I guess I'll just let you carry on insisting you're always right to the point of being combative about it.  Wow... you're a real winner.  Well... at least in your own mind.

How insecure do you have to be to spend so much energy bashing the opponent after your team scores a glorious victory like that one?  I guess that Tampa fans have "Little Man" complex like their coach.

23 points. That's all I asked for. Dear God, just make the Raider's super-humilation WORSE than the Chargers in the '94 Championship.

Thanks for the meaningless intereception  to close the game! I may have been the only person on the Planet who really wanted those points (although at halftime Denise, my wife a Denver fan, was hoping that the Bucs could hang 46 points on the Raiders, thereby removing the '89 game from Superbowl Trivia).

What is this about?  Did you feel that Tampa celebrated a little too long?

I do think Tampa's owner and coach showed a little class up on the podium after the game.  I really liked that Tony Dungie was given credit where credit was due (that defense was built by him).

Of course, the NFL has a long way to go before figuring out "Tastefull".  Jon BonJovi playing during the awards cerimony seemed bad.  Its like the whole thing was a cross between the NFL and the XFL.

I wasn't rooting for the Raiders (my wife sure was), but I did want to see a bit more of a football game.  I'm very dissapointed with what showed up on game day.
