Ok, I spent a few hours today making a film out of some of my AH recordings.
It's my first attempt EVER to do something like this, so please tell me what to do better.
Note1: As I only have about 10MB of web-space, I can only offer a very lo-res version of it, but if someone offer to host it, I can come up with a much better version. (in range of 20MB)
Note2: I had a lot of trouble getting the AH-viewer to overwrite the original views (see this (http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77005) thread), so I could make some new smooth pans, so I did them while the viewer was actually writing the AH-film to a .avi file. This makes the headmovents happen in too big moves.
Note3: #1 and 2 combined makes it a bit hard to follow the "plot", but near the end of the film, the view changes to the cockpit of the P38, when he spots something. :) Well, the upload has finished so please take a look.
Lo-Res(7.35MB) (http://home14.inet.tele.dk/snefens/sleep-lores.wmv)
Hires link was getting drowned in the middle, so just putting it up here.
Hi-Res (22.1MB) (http://home14.inet.tele.dk/snefens/sleep-hires.wmv)

Well done! Liked the band.

Thats a nice vidio, very watcherble dispite the low res.
Nice soundtrack, some really nice moves and shots.
Edited very nicely and use of fadeing in and out seams the clips togetaher well.
only thing i could say as a possible pointer is try and edit out to much "Static" shots.
thats shots that have not alot happerining in them, there was a few shots after the first kill that lingerd a bit just looking at a distant fighter, if people have to watch to much of nothing happerning, thats when ya loose them.
Somthing a lingerign shot is needed for mood or to set the scean, but they need to be used spareingly. Action is then name of the game :)
GREat vid well done
Take a look at the vidio i made for my squad

Perk the 205!
I liked it, and not bad for a 1st time :)
-
Guys,
what software are you using to do the films? they look very good!
Cheers
-
Oh great! Now every dweeb in the game is going to start flying the C.205. There goes a great 40 perk ride.
Thanks a lot.
;) :p :)
-
Beautiful Snef!! :)
Btw, that plane was C.202. ;)
-
Get me the big version and I'll host it for you.
-
"nice work snefens! :) Whats the name of that song?"
Thx. Song name kinda obvious isn't it? :) "Sleeping my day away" by D-A-D from back in 1989 D-A-D (http://www.d-a-d.dk/new_web/start.html) (former Disneyland after Dark until Disney pressed charges for use of their name)
"what software are you using to do the films? they look very good!"
I used AH's filmviewer to change views and convert to .avi, then I used Windows Movie Maker that came with Win XP, to edit the film-clips.
"Perk the 205!"
It's the C.202 I'm flying. Best 60 ENY perk ride :)
-
Thx, Deacon. I sent you a mail through this message board about it.

Doh! Should have known that. I was wondering how come the bad guys were taking so many hits before going down.

Love how you went to different perspectives and the P38 death, next for that song one is to have the plane so close to landing alot of kills then get shot down...
Nice

I really enjoyed ur film. Keep it coming. The p47 was prob me.
-
Actually the P47 was Odege. P38 was AKAK both times, but in all fairness it should be said that he got me the same time that he was shot down that second time (I just choose not to show it :))
The friendly coming to help was Wipass.
It's all from the same sortie, and I just did the take-off and the end afterwards.
I am just mailing the bigger version to Deacon now, so stay tuned.
In my head I have already planned new films, right down to the song and sequence of what's gonna happen. Now I just need to get recordings of it :)
-
OK, my mail refused to send the large file by mail, so now I just took a chance and put the hi-res version up on my site. Get it before I'm shut down. :)

Nice movie Snefens.
It brought me back some good memories from my AW time back in 1996, cause the look is so similar…
-
Very cool film. Nice editing work. But what's with the smurf?
-
Poppa Smurf was a pimp....
he ran the whole town..
hehehe
-
Nicely done, nice choice of music, overall some nicely done views of the action.
The first p38 kill especially had me on the edge of my seat saying " shoot shoot"!
Big congrats sir!

Well this one has the advantage of being an Aces high movie.
-
Ive never seen these type of threads moved, since there isnt a "Hey I made this video" group. The "film" group is for the aces high format film.
Besides....good movies are one of the BEST ways for new users to get the excitement of AH and encourage downloads. I love making them myself, and its a TON of work to just get a good movie made (this one is great for a first go round).
I spend about 5 hours converting AH films to avi with good views, another 2-5 hours for general editing of the scenes together for best experience, and at least another 2-3 hours adding sounds.
