"I love songs about horses, railroads, land, judgement day, family, hard times, whiskey, courtship, marriage, adultery, separation, murder, war, prison, rambling, damnation, home, salvation, death, pride, humor, piety, rebellion, patriotism, larceny, determination, tragedy, rowdiness, heartbreak, and love. And Mother. And God."

Anyone else heard Johnny Cash's cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt"?
An odd choice for a cover, but that's why I like it. That, and it's a good song. Highly recommended.

He's also covered Danzig and Beck and and Tom Waits and you name it.
-
he did rusty cage by Sound Garden too :D
-
Have to go grab those too then. Thanks.

most artists are afraid to do a johnny cash song since no one can do em better.
oops... there is a "tribute' album out now by various country, rock and blues artists doing cash songs that is pretty good tho from the few I've heard. even tho the blues guy get's all PC and political about "folsom prison blues". The "don't take your guns to town" version is great by robison. even emmy lou and cheryl crow get in on the deal.
