Title: 4./Jagdgeschwader 53 "Pik As" Needs 109 pilots
Post by: Batz on January 30, 2003, 08:24:48 AM: 4th Staffel ./ Jagdgeshwader 53 "Pik As" is currently looking for 109 pilots. Overall skill is unimportant. Skill comes with time in plane and proper training.

The purpose of this Squad is to put together a 12 to 16 man unit that fly as a squad. The squad will fly and train to develope wingman tactics and proper energy fighting techniques. Basically the squad will fly the 109 as accurately as possible.

The squad will use the main to develope skills that we can put into practice in events and in the upcoming AH2:ToD. 4./JG 53 is not a "field capture" squad. The squads main focus will be a2a combat and "unit" flying.

The squad will fly all versions of the 109 but the 109g6 will be our main ride. As a squad our sole purpose will be flying the 109.

109s are best flown as Energy fighters - using its high climb rate to dictate the engagement. Normal Boom & Zoom tactics with very high speed passes do not suit the 109's style. It is better suited to the style of energy combat where the main objective is to set up a moderate altitude advantage right over or near the target. Then use short sprint dives with moderate closure rates for gun passes. The 109 can then climb back out and loop or climb away as necessary.

JV 44 Platzshutzstaffel AG is Co.

and

III./JG 2. Giggy is Co.

I plan on setting squad nights 2 times a week. Basically it will involve setting up a "mission" and then going out and executing that mission.

It will focus unit tactics and working together.

Even though the AH2:ToD is 5-8 monhs away the plan is to get a squad worked up and ready to fly in there. From my previous experience in build in squad it takes sometime putting a good unit together.

As I stated above the squad will exist to fly the 109. We will fly all variants, but the G6 will be the primary ride.

Read over the webpage and email me and we can set something up for this weekend if you like.

I am currently flying as a knight.

I am currently in a MA squad which im pretty happy with so MA squad is filled for me but im certainly interested in TOD LW squad flying.Also in CT i have a squad but im considering closing it as im not really seeing squadmates much.

Perhaps you would be ok with me flying in TODs with you?

Im more a 190 man but i certainly like to fly 109s often.

Post by: Batz on February 18, 2003, 01:23:11 AM: Iron Giggy has taken over JG2. They are now III./JG 2. The rest of the guys reformed JV 44 "Platzshutzstaffel". They both fly 190s more then anything. JV 44 and I still fly together alot.

III./JG 2 is recruiting.

I really only wanna the 109 so I started a "new" squad to focus on that plane. As matter of fact JV44 and us share a a bbs Forum.

But either way all three of these squads are recruiting.

EDIT (its a zipped ah film; you can either view it in the AH stand alone film viewer on through AH clipboard. To view on the clip board unzip the file to your HTC/AH/Films Folder. Thewn go into ah and click on the "film" button. )

Double Attack is a derivative of Loose Deuce. The pair still will switch rolls when necessary but the "other" pilot is more actively involved in the attack, not just waiting on the perch until the engaged pilot calls him down. This approach demands very close contact, and communication is very important.

With Double Attack each member will have to be able handle his responsibilities and understand when to switch. It is important to keep SA not just for the enemy but for each other. You dont want to killshooter youself or your wingman. When setting up a Double Attack in a 2 vs.1 its best to "bracket" the enemy. The two fighters split slightly away from each other in order to get on either side of the enemy. This way what ever way the enemy breaks one of the pair can saddle up. The idea here is for the pair to keep their energy state up and pressure of the enemy. If the enemy is making wild evasives the pilot attacking doesnt need to bleed energy to stay on his 6. He can break off and reposition while the other pilot takes up the attack. This type of attack doesnt allow the pair to maintain the greatest SA. So its important not to enter into a double attack unless you are reasonably sure the area is clear.

Im interested in joining up, but im currently in a squad in the MA, 444th AirMafia, and im in VF-27 Hellcats in the CT. But I fly the 109G-6 AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE:D I would love to hook up with yall during a TOD or something. The G-6 is my favorite ride in which i score about %85 of my a2a kills. I'm not the best but i can definitly hold my own.
