Title: Y axis spiking
Post by: Fiction on January 30, 2003, 08:12:55 PM
Has anyone experienced the Y axis going to maximum on the last 1/3 to 1/4 of the throw on a Cougar.  It only happens in AH, when I test the JS in windows the action is nice and fluid but in AH when I test it in the JS setup and pull back on the stick the problem occurs...it doesn't happen on the X axis.  I have downloaded the latest drivers and flashed the stick :p but the problem is still there.  I have just returned to AH after 6mths off (due to work) so I re-installed the stick downloaded the latest copy of AH and started flying.  Everything has been ok for a week and now this problem has resurfaced.

Any ideas?

Thx

Are you using manual calibration?  If you are, try using auto-calibration.  The manual calibration hasn't been working well in the past few firmware upgrades.

Also, make sure you are not using any axis profiles in your AH setup.

Thx Gunner but it seems the mistake is entirely mine...when doing my axis profiles in  AH I left the 90 value slider 3/4 the way up...I didn't realise this would have caused it to spike the remaining 1/4 throw of the stick :o  It seems I should have played around in the AH joystick setup more, than stuff around with the CCP, so I could see what different values would make.  Thx for your post, it put me on the right track ;)
