umm, did Peter Jackson have a different book than the rest of us did? I can understand some of the changes and additions, but everything in relation to Frodo, Sam, Faramir and Gollum after the waterfall scene was awful, and nearly 180 degrees away from the book. :( I was really disappointed in that.
It was lining up to be an overall fantastic movie, but the ending just really soured it for me. (uhh, no offense Sour! :D)
yeah, I know I'm like 6 weeks late on the squeaking, but I couldn't hold it back.

Its better the second time; took my friend to see it and enjoyed what did happen, without complaining about the extraneous stuff (too long to mention them all here)
I gave the first film 10/10, Two Towers a 7/10 (would have been a 5/10 but it was just so gorgeous a film I bumped it a few notches)

Makofan,
Those were my feelings exactly. Two Towers wasn't nearly as good as the first film.

Given the complexity of the original storyline by Tolkein (spelling?), I think they did a superb job of preserving the feel and character of the original work. I look forward to the next movie release.

the director even stated before release that the two towers would be the furthest from the book, but return on the king should be more spot on.
