What kind of discipline does a pilot get from his outfit when he crashes on landing like that?

Any idea how they got him out?   Looks like the front of the plane has him pinned to his seat.

CVE's were pretty small carriers to land a Corsair on; their aircraft complement was usually restricted to Wildcats (which got a second life as a pretty good sub killer in the Atlantic flying off jeep carriers after they were no longer frontline fighters in the Pacific).

I wonder if this guy was making an emergency landing on the nearest available carrier, rather than trying to make it to home base?

who took the 1st picture...looks like he had a chase plane? the angle looks like it had to be an airborne platform of some kind.

Nope looks like either the net or the platform next to it where the dude with the bats jumps when it all goes horribly wrong.
