Just noticed it has been one year since I started tooling around in this my first and only flight sim. Probably the best $180 dollars I have ever spent! Lots of great times and memories. I will go on trying to catch as many of your bullets as my plane will hold.:D
to everyone, who has helped me along the way and see you around. By the way, how old are you to Aces High?
-
Started flying AH in the summer of 2001 - was on AW since 1995 or so prior to that.
Certainly worth the money in my book - where else can I hear squadmates singing strange renditions of WWII marching songs inbetween beers? :D
-
Congrats TracerX!

Beta, V.34 in Oct 1999?, but online since November 1999. I'm "3 years and 3 months old" I guess? (And I still suck)
-
Late October of 2002, so about 3 1/2 months.
:p
-
The day after Air Warrior died I came to Aces High.
-
Although I stayed in AW to the bitter end, I came to Aces High in April 2001, shortly after the volunteer staff, including myself, were written off as "surplus to requirements". A huge number of former AWrs left in disgust at this point, which also coincided with EA starting to charge for AWMV.
So, been here for 22 months, of which the last 12 have been spent as part of the CM Team..... :D
-
2nd quarter 2000 i think... geez its been a while!
-
either febuary or april 2002...cant quite remember but its starting to get close to a year
(and i only JUST got a joystick)
-
Thanks Rip! You must fly Knights since I don't recall catching any of your bullets, but I read lots of your posts. Keep up the good work.

Actually, life has caught up with me, and my flying time has been basically reduced to special events :( (And yes I fly Knights)
!

flew the beta for a bit
used my two weeks in July of 2000
and then subscribed in september 2000
-
tracerx! :)
I tried the beta, but held off for a bit. I really don't know for sure when I came over with the squad. Nearly 3 years I would say. I have been doing CM stuff for about 2 1/2 years. :)
-
Started playing Aces High December 4th 2001, At 3:15 pm EST.
Died my 1st time at 3:19 PM EST.

seems i missed my birthaday was looking at account history birthday was 4/24/2002 that would make me 1 yr18 days or so i guess couldnt even begin to count the num of times ive been killed.:D
-
2nd day public beta started... the days when the MA had all of 2 guys flying at 12am pst. most of the times nil. Up to 30 guys during peak hours. Boy has AH matured!!:)
-
Sometime in Sept 2001 , dam near quit every time I logged on for the first year cause the only thing I could do is a loop on merge, realize I was dead and runstang to Rude for protection.
Was a frustrating game that gets more fun every week , well almost every week.

Spring 2002-after my free 2 weeks played H2H for a year and then became a paid subscriber in March of this year.
-
Beta tour 3 with a superb k/d of 0.2 :p (I can't remenber who augered near me :))
And I still suck ... the more experience I have ,the older I am and less accurate I'm :p
-
Central drug me in some form of the Beta. At one point I think HTC added smoke and flame effects?! Hard to believe, but I sorta recall it.
Don't know why all the players that started back then here think they still suck, unless it's a stupid way to say they think they are good and need someone else to say they are such an ace in response, whatever.
As fun as it was taking up 205’s with Thunder vs. Pongo and who he flew with way back then, the 'new' AH is 10X's as hard. AW, whatever it was, and WBS people migrating has made the MA very tough to get kills vs. deaths. There has been a huge amount of online flightsim talent infused into AH.
AH, indeed, has progressed.
-
Oct '99 beta v.34 oh the memories... :D

Ok,ok I don't suck , I'm just stagnating .
-
Thats better.
And for real, there is alot of new people that could make the 'vets' suck time to time.
-
I guess I'm one of the pioneers. Account history of "Snefens" says I've been flying since October 5th 1999. I remember I used the callsign "Snef" one or two days before that.

LMAO! :D
Started AH back in March 2002. Played AW from way back around 96? to about early 2001. Ran around in WWIIO for about a year in between. Have enjoyed AH for the most part, seems the gameplay or something is getting a little stale now...?:( ?:(
-
Beta '99. WB prior to that.
-
what flossy said.....
when I heard there unfortunate termination.....I left AW and came here......played AW since '95
-

Hey Vorticon, that kinda makes us twins. My anniversary is Feb 1 or 2, 2002. It was real hard at first till I found a squad to help protect me.
-
dweeb masses. 2nd week of Jan. 2000.
Furball sux!;)
-
Congrats, Tracerx.
! Definitely a good, clean fun hobby. Unless you hang out with the FDB... :p
I've got 2 full years under my belt now. heh, I'd dig my year post up, but I don't want to wade through my 4000+ posts.
I'm gonna catch ya, Rippie! ;)
-
September 1999 I think.
-
Been playing since February 2000 - Tour 1, although I had been using/practicing with AH offline since about November 1999 (had trouble just trying to take off! ;)) The practice helped though, the only thing I couldn't do when I went online was use the radio! ;) "Nexx, you're transmitting on open channel... oooops!" Then met this guy called Rude.... joined the 13th TAS and they helped me climatise to online simming! :)
I worked out the other day that I have spent nearly $900 playing AH! ;)
-
Been here an loooong time, and im really psyched about my comeback in the virtual skyes of AH after an 6 month break!!
about 14 days to go before i can fire up the engine again :D
Hi Fariz!
-
I was looking for an old post and ran across this one, I thought that some of the new subscribers would like to know old some of us are.
By the way Nifty, you'll never catch Rip, I think he posts in his sleep. :D

LOL Straffo, I still laugh when I read that.

Happy B-day TracerX :)
My 1st successfull takeoff from A1's hilltop was done in October 1999. It was then rendered moot by the 1st HO I attempted with my Spitfire MkIX at no less than D 25! :D
Some days I still s*ck, some days I s*ck less... go figure...
*edit* Ok, who dug this out?
-
been over 3 years now, started february 2000 after i got tired of FA.
It was a blast and a very hard learning curve, so i struggled for 2 months trying to get a good sortie without dying lol.
I remember my first meeting with Citabria he called me a f..... dweeb cause i flew the fu4-c and shot my chute :) (how in hell could i know that a fu4-c was a dweeb plane when it was one of my first flights hehe)
