Title: Prospect: LW Training Films
Post by: wetrat on February 04, 2003, 07:03:00 PM: I've been considering making a few films on how to be successful with LW rides in the MA, specifically in G10's. I would be recording how I conduct myself in me vs. X many cons, and basic techniques to get you that much desired kill.

If there is any interest in this, I'll gladly make a few films and post them here.

Therefore, you probably don't have the experience or knowledge yet that other "vet" L/W guys like Urchin or AGJV44.

Surely you know that it doesn't take any sort of "vet" to know how to fly the MA in this game. It just takes knowledge of what to do and when, and a lot of practice. There are only so many situations you can encounter in the MA, and I would be making films on how to handle the most common ones in a G10. I have well over 300 hours in G10's in the past 3 months, including MA time as well as the DA... and I think I can fly them better than most, and nearly as well as Urchin. He is better than me, but I can give him a good fight.

If I do post films, what they contain would probably be trivial to someone like Urchin or AG, as well as myself. But I doubt it would be to the guy who is just starting to fly G10's and has no idea how to stay alive other than to fly at 20k.

If all my offer to help the new guys will recieve is a cynical response from an ego such as yourself, so be it. Someone else can help them.

I'm certain he could, myself included. Funny I'm the one reffered to as "ego" Wetrat, when you quite obviously have played this game before under another name, yet choose to tell others you haven't, then proceed to offer "help" with the l33t skills you have learned in a whole 2 months of flying. THAT is ego personified, so please, why don't you tell us who you were before, and then you'll have more credibility when offering "help".

All you have to do is say "Hi, I'm actually Moot", or whoever you were before, and it'll be super duper!

Also, I have flown against you Moot, I shot down your D9 once in my D9, and you proceeded to cry and whine about it, then when called out, you made up some crap about how you were actually "yelling about my plane's crappy stall characteristics". LOL!

Funny also how Moot's tour stats abruptly end, and "Wetrat's" suddenly begin, don't you think?

Moot, you're one hell of a 109 stick, no dooobt abooot it, but seriously, drop the charade, and post up some films for us to check out.

all of us were in the same squad with ag, urchin and a host of other excellent flyers. Ely, Fork, Leitwolf, Erlkonig and others

And Dlamb, I have no words for you..

I'll make a few G10 films when I get back in my groove. I'll start filming my sorties now; I'd expect something within the next two weeks.

Wotan: tired of IL-2 already? :) I'll look for ya.

You might see if HBlair or NathBDP have footage as well. They are the two best 109ers I know. HB has film and makes tons of movies... Goto to the Assassins link below and check out some of his work.

I'd definitely like to see your stuff too... Never hurts to have a lil more insight from a different perspective.

I'm a fairly decent G10 driver... I can't touch either of those guys in it, I think the three are of comparable skill. I don't recall ever tangling with Urchin 1 on 1 in G10s so I have no basis for comparason. There is also Wotan, I believe he's a dedicated Luftwaffle too...

I love finding a lone Pony... they're yummy!:D

I'm not the man to be making Fw - A# films.. I only fly them when I feel like being shot down.

I've been fliming just about every sortie, have tried to put myself in situations where I need to use some sort of ACM... but nothing spectacular ever happens. Give it another week of MA time, and if nothing eventful happens, I'll grab some guys and use them as pawns in the DA or something.
