Thanks to 10Bears hard work: The Map
The Clipboard: Dux
The Skins:Cobra,Gatso,Kweassa,Ramzey,& Viper.
We now have a back drop for the titantic strugle for Hungery and Centrial Europe in 44/45. From late September 1944 to the middle of March 1945 the Russians and their allies and the Axis powers strugled for controll of this Huge area, to sight just two examples of the kind of fighting that took place hear: When the Russians sourounded Budapest and it finaly fell on the 13 of Febuary 1945 188,000 German and Hungarian troops were lost. In one of the last great attacks of the War by the Germans on the 5th of March 1945 near lake Balaton Over 800,000 men 12,500 guns and mortars, 1300 tanks and asault guns and 1800 aircraft on both sides were locked in some of the firest fighting of the whole war. So in keeping with the long peroid of fighting that this map covers and with the wide varity of New skins we have available to us I present the Following Plane set:
Russia and the East Europen Forces:
Yak9U
Yak9T
La5FN
La7

I just checked Hungary Offline. Nice looking terrain, 10bears, and mountain areas looks really cool! Are the elevations in this map from real life?
And Dux: you have made again great Clipboard map!;)
-
If I remember correctly, 10bears made the Hungary terrain using DEM or DTED data, so it should be fairly accurate as far as elevations go. I've flown in it offline during construction, and it was a lot of fun.
The contours in Hungary might be arbitrary... I don't remember if I worked them out or not. Finrus definitely has accurate 1000' contours, though. I'll have to double-check now... I don't want to be slighting 10Bears. :)
PT battles in the big river should be a hoot!
Thanx for the compliments, guys

Guys we are starting over old ground again.
No offense toward 10Bears and the new map but we are just finishing up an Eastern Front map. Why are we having "basicly" the same thing again?
How about rotating the maps you use a little. Not everyone that flies the CA likes the Russian vs. German plane set.
-
It is not realy the same plane set their are many diferances, and it is basicaly an end of the war plane set. Also it is our policy to run New Maps asap, we also just had a PAC plane set with your favorate planes Just last week.:) Another point is that Soviet VS German set up's are prety rare in the CT. Normaly we would not run two Soviet set up's back to back, Howeaver since it has been a while since we had a Soviet set up,This set up is different enough in a number of ways, and the Map is new, I have been waiting a long time for it, and I like the Map:), I simply couldent help myself.:)

I like it...........

For those who like PTO, the Slot map is undergoing a complete facelift. While it is being done for the Solomons scenario, the CM Terrain team is very accomodating about requests for certain features for CT use. They are adding shore batteries, and updating field layouts. There will also be a number of custom fleets, making this an ideal terrain for some great naval battles. Brady has been foaming at the mouth about this Hungary terrain (you might say he has been "hungary for it;)"), and new terrains are always a plus for CT attendance.

Ughh.. little minor gripe here :)
10bears, I think u've changed the size of the original 1024x1024 BMP to 256x256 in indexed color mode.. not RGB mode..
The quality of the F-4 skin seems a bit lacking to the 256x256 version I have.. It should look like this in 256x256 :)
-
Here are the 256x256 BMPs I'm currently using. I hope these may be used if u ever consider making any more maps with Eastern Front settings .. :)
-
.. and another
-
... oops forgot attachment
-
Thx got em'
I like your skin.. 109F works for me thx..
Glad you guys like the terrain ;).. Any chess players or banjo pickers out there should be able to reset map in 1 hour
Study the map closely, do you see how it could be done using both ground forces w/ air support?
-
Solomons ... oh yeah. :D

Seams like a good setup but I have a complaint, I am very disapointed that the TA152 is not in the setup at all. As you typed in the MOTD it is a 1944 to March 1945 setup, the Ta152 saw action against the VVS (and shot several down) but it is not in the setup. I think everybody knows that it wouldn't bring any advantage to the LW (Dora much more usefull) but it is a nice plane to have and with that time date it SHOULD be in the setup.
Please consider adding it :)
-
I did but they faught up N, not in Hunery, I beleave the closest unit was in Austria and just converting to the type but they were not operational.
-
Didn't realize the setup was THAT historic, cool though.
-
Well It is not realy, but i used the lodgic of excluding the Me 262 in part on that line of thinking and wanted to advoid opening a can O worms by leting it in. Like it or not( and I do like the Ta-152), it is a very rare plane and it simply doesent belong in this area, it is not easy having to draw lines like this but at times it has to be done.
-
Bradys,
I hope you concider 262 day on Sunday... (smoke enabled)
Would bring in the numbers huh.
Have you guys seen Gatso's skin for that yet?.. it's cool

Yeah. This is exactly why I prefer the CT. Airshows with psychodelic paint jobs.

Splash,
Lighten up, 262 paintjob is reminder to us all not to take this game too seriously.. It's just for fun.
109F ain't exactly historical either.. looks nice..
Theres some easter eggs but I ain't gonna tell ya where.
-
I don't think prefering near-historical matchups and at least believable graphics to be taking anything too seriously. These are reasons I spend most of my online time in the CT.
I avoid the arcadish servers on IL-2 when I play there, as well.
You've got a nice map here. No need to crap on it.
To each his own, I suppose.

Beautiful Map 10bears, great work!!

Here's another one for the Hungary terrain :)
Seems this one might do better considering overall historic conditions.. a little bit revised F4 in Hungarian markings..
-
I'm a bit curious.. I don't have any reference on the underside of Hungarian planes, so I would appreciate if someone could tell me that if the white cross is same as on the top side of the wings, as portrayed in my version...
also, were the red, green, and white stripes painted underside of the elevators, too??
-
.. and, the second attachment..
I found out why the fuselage markings seem dimmer than the wing markings.. the size of the fuselage markings are in reality smaller than the wing ones.. thus, during the size reduction the anti-aliasing process tends to blur the edges of the markings on the fuselage.. corrected this problem with the Hungarian F-4..
-
Got em' thx
-
Dont forget Slovak 109G6 and 190F8. my handi work Map came out great 10Bears. Now some shots of my babys?
