will it be enough to convince our "allies"?

of course you can side with bighead saddumb as he states the  evidence is all US manufactured propaganda to support the war against his "innocent" nation...........

Well the thing about Powell is that our allies listen to him more than the President - go figure.

You will see that as Powell keeps having talks with them, policy will slowly change.

Dont worry, in the end it will go the US's way.

Powells Punch needs to convince the UN security council, because that is who he's presenting the information to I believe.

The Security council will hear his report, and then decide on further action. Any substantive action they decide on must succeed with nine votes and no veto. I don't think anyone will be using their veto.

Just hope he goes with the non-compliance angle and not the Al-Quaeda one.

Powell will mostly focus on WMD evidence. The evidence  for Al Queda ties will be more nebulous... perhaps consisting of only some "highly suspicious" information.


However it turns out, I'm not sure that in the future the USA should submit its decisions to a show of hands at the UN - a show of hands by these other nations that do not share our vital interests - when it concerns matters of vital national security.

Three possibilities:

1.)  The GOOD punch!  Powell brings to light certain aspects of Iraq that no one knew prior to the speach.  Something good enough to make the naysayers shut up and declare in a soft spoken whisper "...well hell... you didnt tell us THAT."  

2.)  The FAILED punch!  Powell completly fails to take advantage of the opportunity and doesnt give any new information - or at least nothing that people didnt already assume.  "Saddam's WMD are horrible and must be stopped" is an example of this speach.

3.)  The FIFTEEN MINUTE punch!  "15 minutes ago..."  The "we already bombed them" speach.  The evidence is so good that in an attempt to avoid the "Why didnt Bush act sooner?" headlines in the newspapers of the following day, he already signed off on the "Dresden-ation" of Bagdhad.

amazingly true, i don't think a sat photo of a nuclear tipped scud would change some of their minds
