FOID or firearms owners ID card means that you must be licensed to own a firearm here????? If this is the case then they have created a defacto registration and limit on ownership absent any criminal activity. Who gets to decide if you are authorized to get a FIOD???? I guess you better not piss them off.

I tried to check on the link relating to FIOD only but the link was broken.

It sounds like they're trying to jump through a loophole.  Most states allow you to carry a gun in a case.  Now they're attaching the case to themselves.  

Interesting indeed.  I'm not sure what the FIOD is though.

FOID is just a special ID for buying a gun.  You don't have to own a gun to have one, but you do have to have a FOID to buy a gun.  You send in your name, address, photo, etc., and they send you back a card.  You show the card to buy a gun, instead of your driver's license.  I don't believe you need a FOID to shoot, only to own.  I think it also satisfies the background check requirement.

the police don't know the law??? gee maybe we have too many laws if even the people who have to inforce the law don't even know the laws they have to inforce.
