The man who won the most dangerous conflict of them all without firing a shot.
indeed!
-
Best wishes and happy birthday.
How's he doing these days? You don't hear much about him anymore.
More directly, how's the fight with Alzheimer's going?
-
He's losing that battle, I'm sorry to say.:(
-
you may know it's his birthday, but does he?
-
Rgr that Rip. Happy Birthday Ronnie!!! How old is he now, 92 or thereabouts?
Les
-
Yep, 92.
Always liked Reagan... he was the first president I knew. Back in the day when I was a wide-eyed little kid, and the President could do no wrong.
That, and he looked/acted/spoke like my grandpa. :D
-
Happy Birthday and thank you.
-
Salute!
-
Ever see the 'Bonzo' movies?
Comedy Gold.
Hard to believe the guy made president. Having said that, please don't hate me for saying he damn near bankrupted us in the process of running the soviets into the dirt.. and came pretty damn close to getting the russians into a pre-emptive strike mood in the process with the 'evil emipre' rehtoric.
On the plus side.. he was a hawk when it came to little lines on maps.. and he understood that strength and resolve were the correct negotiating tools in dealing with the soviets. Reganomics aside.. he was a pretty good chief executive.
And he hated the french too. ;)
Mr. President! Long Live The President!

As much as I hated his politics, I could never work up a hatred for the man. I think he always meant well.

This bait is stinky...but I'll go ahead and bite.
RoNaLD RaYgUNZ for allowing cocaine to be imported into the inner cities, for imprisoning the poor idiots who used *your* imported product, for trading arms to a country known to support terrorism and the taking of American hostages, for hanging the Marines in Beirut out to dry and for your pathetic response after they were blown away, and finally for being an all around evil piece of toejam.
You deserve the undying contempt and scorn of the citizens of the United States...I hope the Marines in hell get to ram a spit up your sorry wrinkled white bellybutton and roast you over a roaring fire.
Hows that for a eulogy mietla?
I wouldn't let him lick the sweat off my balls if he was dying of thirst.

*ding*
..and we have a winner!

Exactly what I've expected.

Mr Reagan. You rank as one of the absolute best Presidents this country ever had.
-
I had the great honor to serve as an administrative assistant in the foreign aid section of his transition team, as well as sitting above him about 100 feet off his right shoulder the night he made his acceptance speech in Joe Louis Arena. Even then I could feel the electricity of history in the making. Too bad we'll never have a Victory In The Cold War Day to commemorate his greatest triumph. You might want to read the recent book "Victory" (I forget the author) which demonstrates how Reagan, Thatcher, the Pope and the Saudi government brilliantly cooperated to bring the Soviet Empire to its knees politically and economically.

he was funny tho.....

First President I ever voted for (and first election I voted in). I came into the military under his presidency, and I believed he cared about and valued the American servicemen and women. On the balance, I still believe it. It was a pleasure having him as my commander and chief.
Mr. President, you were one of the best.

to the greatest modern President.

what he said
personally, I hope I die in my sleep before I lose my mind and become a burden to my loved ones. What a sad ending for Reagan and his legacy.

Reagan

Now, he can wrap his own presents. :)

My sympathy for him and his family is only because I know how difficult caring for an Alzheimers stricken parent is.
Other than that I have no love of him and his deeds. In fact, I believe he should have been taken to task for his administrations illegal activities.
