Hi everyone. I'm one of Pyro's friends. He cannot do the TOD tonight. Today Tragedy hit Pyro's house. His house was burned due to a falty wire and he lost everything in the home. He and his family are all safe, Thank God.. but he wanted me to notify you to let you know why he wouldn't be doing the TOD. I don't know much about this, but he wanted me to tell you. He doesn't know when he'll be able to e-mail any of you since he is now homeless and looking for a rental. But he wanted you all to know he was safe and that he would be in contact with you as soon as he can. Thank you Pyro's friend.

Man That Sucks!
This is turning out to be a bad time. thats the 3rd tradgedy in the last 24hrs in know of.
Pyroman,
I wish you my best.
-
Damn that sucks. If that happened to me, the last thing I would be worried about is missing the TOD. Thanks goodness everyones ok.
<--(wonders who's going to be the first to do a bad joke about a guy named pyroman having his house burn down)
-
Ouch. well, the TOD didn't work either, so he's off the hook.
Man <S> good luck pyroman.
-
Son of a .. damn things seem to have come in threes this week. Hit with bad news wednesday, thursday, and today. Well at least the silver lining is that nobody got hurt or died.
Tell Pyroman all the Nightmares are thinking of him and he and his family are in our thoughts.
-
Pyro I left my phone number on your unit's message machine, call and we will see what we can do.
-
Pyro, I'm not a rich man, but if I can do anything for you let me know. Email is shodges@cablespeed.net. Good luck.
-
Are you talking about Pyroman or Pyro (of HTC)? Cause he didn't say anything to me about his house burning down today at work!
-
Its Pyroman not Pyro. His friend posted and started this thread and is not familiar with AH and probably just shortened it to Pyro not realizing it would cause some confusion.
-
That's terrible!
Hang in there, Pyroman. Glad to hear you and your family are safe.

Hey im in the UK but i have a voodoo3 card sitting here doing nothing. Is pyroman european or from the US?
How about we all dig out an item or two from that pile of bits and peices we all have and send it to him? Who knows perhaps we can throw together a computer or most of one and cheer the poor fella up?
-
Is this a troll ? Pyroman's house burned down?
-
No this is not a troll .. Pyroman is the X.O. of the Nightmares VMF-101. He chose that name because he is a military fire fighter for the Michigan National Guard.
Just check our roster under our first wing (squad id RF) to see that he is actually a person and that Pyroman's friend was not starting a troll.
-
No - It's not a troll - of course since he and his family are safe - the irony is worth subtle comment.
<S> Pyroman, may ewe be overinsured and up and running soon!

Well guys I'm really touched here. I'm actually seriously teary eyed right now.
We lost everything and I mean everything.
Let me explain what happend. I decided to skip work early yesterday because my boss was on vacation. Well I wasnt even home 5 minutes and my son walk in his bedroom and walked back out immediatley holding his head and calmly said his bedroom was on fire and we need to all go outside. Kinda shocked me he knew what to do like that. Anyway, I decided to go take a look and his bedroom was totally engulfed in flames. I ran into the living room and woke my wife and youngest son. THen got them out I called 911. I ran outside then I realized our car keys were still in the house. Like an idiot I ran back inside. By then there was nothing but black smoke. Well when I ran in the kitchen I got a hold of my car keys then a flame shot out of our gas stove and nailed me in the face. NOw I have a nice bald spot on the top of my head...LOL. But I got the car keys!!!!
Anyway, I'm fine no damage just some major hair singed.
I WAS fully insured and we are getting a new house out of the deal and everything I lost replaced. Including that brand new 1.4 gig PC fully loaded with a Geforce 3 card ;) .
Seriously I'll get everything back including my computer but that may take a little while.
I'm going to miss you all on my little vacation here but I'll be back as soon as I can.
Also, Yes the TOD was important to me and alot of Allied CO's were counting on me. I didn't want to be a no show and everyone thinking I blew it off. I care about everyone in the community and now I see you care too. This is what makes AH so great and why I'll be here for years.
HiTech one thing that would really help me though is if you put my account on hold for a month or so. I really want as few credit card bills as possible right now :)
That I think would be the biggest help.
Thanks all <S>

Pyroman - great to see you here, and glad you and your family got out (almost!) unscathed. Good to hear you were well-insured too. I imagine it will take a while to get everything replaced and in order, and wish you the best of luck in achieving it.... :)

Sorry to hear about the fire. Glad everyone is ok. You weren't running an Athlon were you?

Now you have a new excuse for going bald. :)

Dood while you're at it, when you have it rebuilt, have them run CAT-5 through the walls during construcion. You'll thank yourself later.
I'm glad to hear all peeps are OK and that you were FULLY covered. Ya - know... If you start busting peoples chops real fast and get the demo team in first thing next week
- you could still celebrate Christmas at your house. Thanksgiving will kinda suck, hopefully you were gonna go to family to celebrate? If you were gonna have it at home, I assume the turkey is well done by now. :)
Good Luck!

Good to hear that you and your family are safe and everything's insured.
We don't have a mechanism to suspend accounts, but I'll see what I can do. At worst, you'll just have to resubscribe again but I'll be able to get you your handle back.
-
Pyroman I'm glad to hear the only casualty was some of your hair! Best wishes to you and your family. You're amazing for even thinking of us TOD dweebs after such a disaster!

Hey guys!
Ok in case you guys want to get a hold of me you can email me at dayoopereh@hotmail.com .
AKnimitz I'll email you there shortly. I took next week off of work so I won't be checking my work email. But after next week you can reach me at brian.johnson@mi.ngb.army.mil I took emergency leave for next week.
Anyway, thanks for all the support guys. Hey what's CAT 5 or whatever it was?
I'll check back in tomorrow. Nimitz why don't you just drop me a line at my hotmail account and I'll check it again tomorrow!
Thanks guys and I can't wait to see all of you real soon. I'm not sure how long it will take to get the money to replace my computer. You know that top of the line one I just bought last week but unfortunately left the receipt for it in the house :D

Ronni/yankee if you reading this I'll cover his acct for one month.
You should have my info if not email me.

Sorry to hear what happen to the house and your hair. Hope all goes well for you and you will be back soon
-
Sorry to hear the news Pyroman, am glad you and yours are OK.
I suggest you ask Santa (me) to give your son for having such a clear head in a situation like that. he probably didn't have anything to do with starting the fire, and he might well have saved the lives of you and your other family members.
I can probably dig up some computer pieces if ya need help in that department.

It's the cable they use for computer networking. (also cable modems)
If you have the house pre-wired, you'll be able to put a machine in *any* room and connect to your home network and/or the web.

Hehe, I posted to this thread because I wanted it to float to the top again. Why? I wanted everyone to see what kind of Community Aces High has ;).
Listen folks, those of us who stayed with Air Warrior until the bitter end didn't do it because AW was a better SIM than AH, we all knew better. We stayed because of the tremendous Community that was built AROUND AW. Well, I think it's obvious we lucked into another great Community ... Thank you to all the AHers that have welcomed us with open arms, and especially HiTech, Pyro and Ronni!

I knew I had friends in this game but I didn't realize how many.
Thanks all for your support. I'm at my sisters downstate visiting and I robbed her computer for a few minutes to come here and see what's new.
HiTech and Crew I can't thank you enough for all you're doing for me. This is the first chance in over a week that I've had a chance to get near a computer. I'm very greatful!
I should be back in about a week and half to two weeks. I can't wait to see all of you again! <S>
