I still think, considering all the chute shooting whines, that the best line I ever heard on range vox was this:

"Low chute... lets GET him!"

I was laughing for 10 minutes... you should have heard the conviction in his voice. :D

I'll tell you what inspired me to post this thread... As you can see from my number of posts, I'm not really an avid message board participator. I've been labeled a "Junior" member by the message board Gurus, and by god I was insulted! I'm going for Kingpin Member status!!!!

Just kidding... In reality, I was reading a few posts and saw how many arguments and insults are tossed about in here when someone makes a post. Even if it's a legitmate one, it inevitably leads to insults somewhere down the line. I've got some pretty thick skin, and can handle someone insulting me, but I've noticed a lot of people take it pretty seriously and get offended. The same thing happens within the game while flying.

Then I remembered that I've been insulted before and have even occasionally fired out some rude remarks on open channel while flying. I have to admit that I felt rather ashamed after doing so. Usually, I always try to give everyone a after they shoot me down. It feels much better to acknowlege someone's kill than to get upset and fire out excuses or rude remarks. But I've fallen victim to acting like an idiot myself on occasion, so I apologize to anyone who I've accused of having nuts the size of chick peas... LOL

Lol Saurdauker, now THAT was funny! If you're anything like me, it wasn't so much the desire to kill that chute that made you laugh, it was the conviction with which the desire was stated...

For me, usually guys get scathing remarks sent at em over CH1 because of something they did which doesn't make any sense, is downright stupid, or offends someone's sense of how the game ought to be played.

A 30k dweeb over an nme HQ is annoying but, not necessarily a milk run IMO; few would take a long flight , unescorted through nme territory in a slow climbing Buff. Now a large group of nmez (IMO) who gather to attack an undefended base (always possible in the pizzamap) deserved the accusation of milkrunning bastages :)

Ho's are a fact in AH, and especially in the MA. I see more guys who will turn to you than manuever for a better shot; they simply roll the dice; not worth getting upset about IMO.

Hehe, and anyone who continually ups from a capped base is simply a damn fool and deserves to be vulched :) Its funnier to be on the side of the group doing the vulching :) I mean most of these guys will die trying to get an easy kill, and they do a real good job of giving killshooter some exercise.

As for Chute shooting, hell, sometimes its just fun :) But, it really is a waste of ammo which could be used for better purposes. However, I concede there are times when it makes me feel warm inside when I do it
This past Friday night an nme pilit made a pass at me, as I and several others were taking off from a base. He managed a ping, and I broke away and reacquired him. I chased him a short way, when he realized he couldn't get away he bailed right in front of me! Hehe, I took careful aim and let him have a short burst from 200feet. The explosion (which I cannot understand) was loud and satisfying :)
Hell, everybody has an opinion, and in AH there seems to be no hesitation among us to voice them :)

Exactly - you'd think that shooting that lone chute in the midst of a furball was the key to resetting the map. Priceless. :D

You guys DON'T RUN. And you use your planes of choice masterfully. Which is like a breath of fresh air in the MA.

We (me n' u) tangled a while back, u in an F4 me in Spit9. U could've easily xtnded away, but turned and fought me in a series of perfectly executed rolling scissors. (very impressive all around).

One of your gang, in a hi 51 could've extended away from my N1K, but reversed to engage, no questions asked (Golfer). And he too made that plane do miracles.. without running!

Another of ur boys (Meddog), would not fire at me from a HO opening pass. Boy, u sure don't see this much nowadays.. (is fair-play part of the USMC Credo or what!)

My hat's off to u and your pack... ;-)

We've never been a points oriented squad. We just go where we're needed and try to do what needs to be done at the moment.

My squad still won't forgive me for diving our bingo fuel Tempests down to help a fellow Knight with a bogey on his six. We could have just rtb'd, but he was hollering for help, so down we came. We killed the bad guy but had to ditch our Tempests in the water with empty tanks. He never even said thanks, but I felt good about what we did anyway... I'm an idiot....LOL

And BTW, Glove and Golfer were among the Tempests in our group... I guess you get away with no KP duty Glove.... I owe you a Tempest...LOL

As for the 4 Tempests, we were RTB when the guy called for help. There were other cons in the area as well as the P-47 on his 6, so we all went to help. I think Grim got 2 kills before his engine quit. I was going after a 190 when mine died, giving the 190 a proxy kill when I spashed down.
