Right now with WBIII coming out, we got pics of the Corsair in it's supposed new paint scheme. Well, it's the same old all blue bird that I have NEVER liked. I posted that the three tone paint job of Blue top, light blue mid and white bottom was my favorite, and low and behold, most of the Coarsair flying population feels the same way, wanting the paint scheme usually associated with the early Corsairs. We are pushing for that right now, not really sure if they will do it or not.
How do you feel about the Corsair paint job in Aces High? Do the Corsair pilots here long for a 3-tone paint job? This is not a knock on any AH paint jobs, just a question to those religious NAVY/MARINE squads out there, do you long for the earlier paint, or do you have a pic of what you want? I'd love to see it!

Hiya Hedu,
Yeah I was following that thread also. Problem though is that the 3 tone paint scheme was only on the early bird cage Corsair, if I followed the info in that thread correctly. So until someone models the F4U-1a I think we're stuck with the soild blue (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/frown.gif)

I'd like Ira Kepfords #29 3 tone Corsair with the VF-17 skull and crossbones on the nose.

LOL, the legendary pink/red/orange plane feared by non AW3 players.
Ok, if I wish to see one corsair marking is the one of the French Navy with the yellow stripes like the ones used in the Suez crisis in 1947. (Humm WW2 was over). I can have more pics if HTC staff wishes (that I doubt). The tail as a black ancor over the tricolor markings, but it's not painted on this reproduction.

I remember once being advised by a Frenchman that the cut of a coat wasn't right unless it included an inside pocket large enough to hold a bottle of wine. I've taken that advice to heart.
That said, anybody else see the exhibit at WPAFB of the WWII USAAF pilot's metal whisky flask with the big dent in it? Saved his life. So there's some logic to that.
