What's it gonna be ??
My choice a one deeeee
-
With such a large selection of fine planes to choose from, I really had to think hard about my choice. Would it be blue? Fast? Slow? German or Japanese? Cannons or machine guns? Would I want something that handles well while slow or something that handles well when fast? Something with responsive flaps or requiring heavy use of manual trim? How about fuel endurance and ordinance loads? Could it take off from a carrier as well as a field?
After carefully weighing the alternatives, I've decided that the plane I will fly this tour shall be: The Spit V

As usual, I'm flying a little bit of everything.
This tour, I think I'm coming back to the ways of of the Blue aircraft CHOG[/b] . Other than that, I've come to like the Ta152 and 190s again :)
-
Flying the Spit IX heavily this tour.:) However it's anti-gv capability is pretty poor so i'm using the tiffie & mossie a bit too.
-
Sounds like a good plan.
I'm tempted between P38(been a while since I stayed high), 109G2 (but I already get to fly it often in the CT) or the LA5 (I shoot even worse than usual with that nose).. dunno yet, will have to decide prior to this week end.
Alll these three are my favourite LW rides, especialy the 38 (wink @ Curly)
Pssst, Lev... who'd have thought you'd have come up with that one ? :)

Fieldgun without tracers. :D

Began trying out the Dora, but it seems to restless that I tend to stray back to 109G-10 if I dont pay attention :)
Naturally in G-2 when with squad mates.
-
DMF... I don't think the spit V is the right plane for you... You will probly just get killed a lot and be frustrated. Perhaps you can wing with voss for a tour and learn something?
I think this map will last the tour... as such.... I switch between the FM2 for cv and defense and the yak and 51b for those endless flights to the enemy. Rather find a fight suited to the FM2 fight tho..

lazs the Yaks kick butt. If I didn't love 109s and 190s from the tender age of 5...Yaks would be my favorite in AH hands down. When I get set up with an AH-capable comp., AH account, etc. (in the near future) I will look you up for some Yak flying.
Mike/wulfie
-
If it has a meatball on it Iam flying it.
-
wulfie... I am not very good in one plus... I can't hit anything that is right in front of me unless it is a friendly.... A distinct disadvantage in the yak.

I am flying the Spit V this tour as well, my lord a damn manueverable plane. Next I believe I will give the Yak a go, I have already done the 1D, F6F, FM-2, La-7, and P-51.
-
c202 and me262
-
nothing :(
but I'd probably go for more of the Yak9T if I were going to pick one.
I need an AH films archive so I can watch some AH when i'm not playing it. Anyone got one of those?
-
The Spoits are real handy when you are busy at home. You can do laundry, or catch up on email, and get plenty of kills without paying too much attention.

LOL...
I have been up defending a CV or a base and spotted lazs in amongst the action. Inevitably I am shot down four or five times before I see "Lazs has landed XX kills in an FM2". Sometimes I think he has an 'invisible' button in his plane...'cause I'm in the same furball as him and he almost always makes it home.
-
I will subscribe to play in the MA tonight, when I get back from work, if I'm not too tired, and probably will be flying 109G10 with 30mm in the hub and 2 extra 20mms slung under the wing.
-
I can't limit myself to one plane...
Different situations call fer different rides for me anyways.
If there's a fairly even furball not far from a friendly base I'll drive the hurriC
If there's a furball over an enemy base, I'll drive a Typhoon, with possibly ord, if the plan is to take the base.
If there's an attack underway where furballing is not a concern I take a Hvy jug.(D25)
If there's a furball with our side greatly outnumbered I might hop in the 262.
Most of my fighter kills this tour have been in the typh and hurriC
SpitIX isn't bad at killing GV's if you load ord..

I did most of last tour in the C.205 and developed quite a love for that plane.
This coming tour I've already settled onthe 109G10. I'm curious if I can go an entire tour without a death and still manage 60+ kills. Granted with my poor ACM skills it will no doubt be by running away from every plane that doesn't seem to have an AFK pilot...
-
I fly just about everything to some degree. But generally, I stick to the planes of the "Big Blue Blanket", mostly the FM-2 and F6F. However, I use the Yak-9U, Zekes, N1K2 and 109s some as well.
This tour I will fly the P-47 quite a bit as it is the Squad plane for February (along with the Typhoon).
In the CT, where I spend about 2/3rds of my time, I have been flying the 109s and Yaks. Both types promote good gunnery skills.
If I had to pick a single aircraft to fly exclusively, it would be the F6F-5. It does everything well.
My regards,
Widewing

Curval
That's because I am always clearing his six.
:)

The reality is I am keeping Narsus and Lazs safe....thats why they always land....I take a bullet for my squaddies...
one plane?...thats easy...pez...cherry flavor pez...
crap wrong question...
I meant FM2...the only decent knife fighter in AH...
Mothr
-
both narsus and mother sacrafice themselves so that I might get a kill once in a great while... It is a charity kind of thing that the BK's do for us older and slower witted squadmates whose reactions, sight and hearing are allmost gone. Because of them I got 3 or 4 kills this tour.

P38 will do all that only better :D
-
Any plane of the F4U series and then some GV's.
-
This month I'm liking the FW190A-8 and Ta-152. Still like the La-5 and some of the Bf109G6 action.
Exclusive, I'd prefer the 152.
-
Huh, did I miss something? There's a new tour? I'm lost :(
-
I think I'll try out the P-38 this tour. I heard it's a pretty good plane.
Ack-Ack
-
a flash of silver, some red, white and blue..
she's got six .50's,
she handles briskly, gets me there quickly..
my pony, she brings me through.
-
P51D as always.
But this tour I'm doing somethign special...I'm flying it with only 4 guns :)

"Special" like short-bus special?
Yak for me as always. Someday I'll learn to fly the 38 in AH though.
-
Tiffie or Tempest, myself...good guns, AA and AG capability...fast.
-
I am partial for Bf109s myself.. always have been :)
Quite spiffy plane, with good performance.. in the case of the G-10, excellent. IMO the G-10 rides dangerously in the boundaries of "should be perked" ;) .. but not as loathed as the La-7.
The 109s are good all-around, multi-purpose plane for air combat use.. it can be used in many situations, except ground attack. It absolutely sucks as a ground attack fighter..
...
This tour, I'm trying out the Ta152H-1.. I really should practice more with the 190s, but still, the Ta152H-1 is in many ways a much more pleasant plane to fly. I'm not as confident to ride out in it at hot battles.. but I'm thinking of spending more time with it. Though quite many unperked planes can outrun it, the Ta152 catches speed and retains it so well that in most cases you can outrun almost anything for a certain period of time(usually, enough time to escape to friendly territory). The awesome WEP performance really helps.

I've had a change of heart. I've decided that I'll also be flying a Seafire this tour as well.
-- Todd/Leviathn
-
DMF... I don't believe you are good enough yet to fly a seafire.
lazs
-
SeaFire is good fun....maneuverable, CV landable, and good firepower...
-
if you feel like an unusual month of flying why dont you fly something you DONT find easy? :)
how about you fly a P40b or hurricane Mk I ?
hurricane C? PAH TOO EASY :D
All i see here are people bragging about their favourite ride but none are worthy unless it involves a huge risk.
Comon guys! youve been playing online sims for years. Wheres the skill and bravery of a pilot so sure in his ability that he decides to fly the hardest planes in the game?
all i see are top pilots flying the top rides :) (not that im any different ;))
UNIMPRESSIVE :) either fly the truelly suicidal planes or stop trolling for compliments!
-
P47D-30 is the plane I am concentrating on for this camp.
-
Yak yak yak
-
Alright, then. I been flyin online for almost 5 years. I guess I'll turn in my Tiffie/Tempest and take my old stead, the Hawker Hurricane Mk1.

Ahh yes, a true man. I don't see why people never use the Macchi instead of the constant spit and pony.
