Personally, I would like to rquest that some of the moving parts on the plane models be visible.. one such instance is the leading edge slats on the 109s and Las.. it's a small thing, but it really has some impact on immersion.. It almost feels like EAW, where the planes aren't modelled with any visual aileron/elevator movement.. :o

Also, it would be really cool to see better looking tracers.. the smoling trail in IL-2 seems a bit too dark and too thick, but the same trails seem too thin and clean in AH... it feels almost like a grey laser beam.. :D I wonder if there is any chance of seeing them used with the cool particle system..

I'd like to see the tailhooks drop and retract on carrier birds. :D

I'd second the tail hooks. Also, a fun feature would be a key command to fold wings on the appropriate birds. Would be exciting to get a wing of F4Us sitting on the CV waiting for an attack raid, or something...
Note: Dont mind the fact all the Corsairs are sunk into the deck. It is a bug in the game featured...

I would like to see Vapor trails on its wingtips from b-17 or other bombers when they reach 275 to 300 mph

and i would like to see a new menu system to replace the clipboard which is very hard to see.

If so, got some great files for ya....apparently the ship dps were several times the dimensions of the ships, and waaaayyy too weak. I have modified .dps...People have gotten the bomb bay doors open, too!

Planes skins and a sun with the intensity of IL-2. Our terrain kicks butt now, who knows what they'll be able to do with the new engine..
Sun flare would be a GREAT addition. Vapor trails elsewhere have an FPS problem. Be a great thing to have "if" it could be done without hitting framerates.
Gonna be fun. And no doubt pretty.

Hmmm, nice pic Arlo. Were there any F4U-1s with carrier landing hooks? I thought the Marines removed them since the type was just operating from land bases.
Another small graphics change I'd like to see is the smoke column generated by burning field targets. Its too short and fat. Every column of smoke I've seen is taller and skinnier, and when you approach a destroyed base, the smoke palls should clearly be visible as the base comes into view. Right now you get to see the whole base but only when you get closer does the generated smoke become visible.

Id like to add:
Dust kicked up from movement on ground.
Oil hits actually spray out over the screen.
Bullet holes in canopy and instruments(with resulting loss of those instruments).
a 3d modeled pilot?? :)

AH2 definitely needs a real-looking sun and more clouds. The sun we have now makes me suspect that HTC's office doesn't have windows or they're all vampires or something ;). Vapour trails are a bit more eye-candy ish but would be nice, but a sun and a few cloud layers at different altitudes are much more essential, and would add a whole new spin on combat.

I might have missed it
1) engine smoke on start up would be nice (some more than others of course).
2) Ummm whatcha call those vent thingies that open up on the engines and other areas of the plane, depending on type of plane, when the throttle is opened? it's a feature in Fighter Ace III, yeah it's a crappy game but stuff like that sure helps with immersion. The landing gear retracting/extending is also great to look at but AH is fine in that respect IMO.
3)I love the explosions from bombs in FAIII there may be better, IL2 seems to be the best but for a MMOG the explosions in FAIII would probably be a better choice. even if downtweaked a bit to reduce lag.

Working canopies, and wings that fold for carrier planes would be cool.
Yes, it is totally useless as a gameplay mechanism :), but for immersion, it'd rock.
When canopies are open, maybe the range of the headmovements can be increased... it'd be cool to look on the side of the plane with the head sticking out during taxing.. also, cruising around in open canopies with the wind in your ears..(maybe larger wind sound when canopy open?).. then when about to engage, everybody closes their canopy.. hehe, that'd be cool..Seeing planes neatly lined up on the runway with caopies open.. and etc etc...
A small feature, but I'd say worth the effort!
