It will be a miracle if we dont attack Iraq.
We have 100,000 troops in place and more on the way.
-
Some day the americans doesn't anymore need to watch the war through news channels.
-
Maybe, but it won't be in my or your lifetime.
And if it does, it will because the world has united against the US under yet another dictator to do it, most likely.

Quite a few saw the opening shot of the war. It was in NY City at the WTC.

Something tells me you'de like to see that happen.

I think what he's trying to say is that it's very easy to be pro-war if you THINK it'll affect you only by exciting news on CNN.

Um no, he said one day we will fight the war here.
Guess the WTC doesnt count, or the civil war or the revolutionary war.
Thats why we are going to them now, so we wont have fight here in the future.
Pre-emptive.

...and it is very easy to protest the war, until one of your family is killed by an Iraqi supported terrorist.

Funny you should say so Curval, nothing your government has publicly said so far supports your statement.
Oh, and I had no idea you lost a familymember in the WTC.. Even though I'm really far away from NY, I really shocked on the sight. I just couldn't understand it was really happening.
My condolences to you and your family.

You know, there are other terrorist organizations than Al Queida too...

No, I didn't lose a family member, but I did lose a friend from school that I found out about a year later....I wasn't trying to suggest I lost a family member, sorry for the misunderstanding. I am merely concerned that in the future I might, and the war protesters should be just as concerned.
My government is not the US government..I live on a small island which is a colony of Britain.

LOL at the replies
Maverick,
You aren't exactly seeing various sizes of projectiles whizzing by and exploding, while being covered behind a wall, are you?
I saw alot of people taking pictures and taping it on the film though.. standing all around, hardly scared.. what comes to the audience, comparable to those who saw it live on CNN et al.
I'm sure there would be quite opposite reaction, would the war come outside your window.
(well.. who knows, maybe people has played enough games and watched movies that they think it's like in front of the screen :p)
Rude,
Allah akbar! deeth to ameriikans!
oh wait.. I weren't a pro-war muslim
Maybe you jumped to the conclusion too quickly, purely made up by your assumptions?
Eagler,
My grandfathers weren't approved in the army, so there has been no war stories to hear from them.
Another was too young and the other wasn't accepted due to health issues.
Even so, they've prolly experienced the effects of war closer than you.
Besides that, they've both passed away, not too long ago.
Hows your grandparents?
X2Lee,
It's funny how pro-war people comes up with same type of conclusions.
Anyway.. wrong on your part as well.
Curval,
War on who?
You're not going after the responsible people in Iraq.
It only causes more losses for alot of families, which of only a fraction could be said to "deserve it".
Remember also that it is only a fraction of people whos shouting 'deeth to ameriika' and undoubtably is the loudest group of the two.
To get Saddam, whos so far not proven to have a part in the WTC attacks, alot of people will be killed.
Theres also normal people, like you and me, in Iraq and other countries.
Hortlund,
and theres neo-nazis in USA.

Fishu, tell me, are you an armchair peace-nik?
Or would you be willing to go to Bahgdad as a human shield?
There are a few here that you could take with you, too.

Fishu makes some good points... it's easy to be 'pro war' when there aren't any bullets aimed at you.
A lot of this 'support for war' comes as a result of one of the worlds best propoganda machines: the media
how many of us Americans have first hand knowledge of any of the 'facts' that caused us to make up our minds?
blind faith in what we see on TV...
that being said, terror attacks are real and need to NOT be ignored.
Complacency is dangerous, but so is not knowing all the facts.
