USN 5in AA turret?
-
British 5.25?
-
?............ahh 5 inch?;)
-
I'd go with Brit 5.25, main armament on the Dido class AA cruisers. I dont think they ever actually formed main armament on any British destroyer class
-
Could be wrong but I'm not sure this is AA, looks a bit heavy for that.

frank you can tell it is an AA turret from the amout of elevation the turret allows. The barrel can go almost, if not, vertical.
Looks like a 5.25" turret from a Dido class AA cruiser.

not the mount from the Dido class.
though it still might be a 5.25"
here's a pic of both the 5.25 and 4.50' used on the Dido's
foreground is the 5.25, background is 4.50

Pugg this is what I based the statement on(as on HMS Sirius)

Note there is the 'vents'(??) on the turret's side as in Brady's photo. In Whitley's cruiser book, the photo is much clearer.
This photo of HMS Black Prince also seems to have these 'vents' on the turret.

Could Brady's be a MK I turret while you show the MK II?
-
It is, 4.7"/50 MK XI in a Mark XX mounting.
WOW I must say I had my reservation on posting this thought it might of been to hard but almost everyone figured it was Brittish, which was good and almost everyone had the size prety close.
-
hmm I dont recall which destroyer classes mounted that type of turret, Battle or Tribal maybe?
-
The L and M classes
