Title: Rubber Bullets & Thin Skin
Post by: AKWeav on February 17, 2003, 10:07:09 PM
On cable modem, checked and not losing any packets.

What can I check regarding the ease which any 50 cal plane has knocking out my osties main gun with only a few hits? The angle of attack the con makes, doesn't seem to have any corelation as I see the same results from either high strafing runs, or those on the deck.

Conversly, I can strafe the hell out of osties with 4x20mm (from all angles, and I'm luckie if I can get his engine to smoke (providing he dosent tag me first). M-3s seem to be the only gv I can kill with cannons alone.

Am I missing something in settings?

Now you've been down this road but I just discovered to leave V-sync on. All this time I've had it off. Running 100Hz refresh on the moniter.

Choppy in graphics compared to V-sync off but my bullets work much better..

When I do hit stuff..

Which is rarely :D

HiTech said in a post that V-Sync doesn't cause rubber bullets, nor is V-Sync in AH tied to the refresh rates and therefore limit your FPS to the refresh rate setting if V-Sync is turned on.

Ack-Ack

I've noticed a difference in lethality. Gonna mess with my refresh rate to get in sync with the games FPS on "my" end, to decrease the stutter that appeared V-sync on. I have lotsa choices with my moniter.

SOP for WB players, been down the road :D

If you have one firing at you, a relatively short burst from any one of the 7.92mm machine guns on a Panzer or Tiger is sufficient to take out the main gun on an Ostwind. Just aim for the gap in the front of the turret that the barrel pokes through, and fire away. If you're blazing away with cannon and not doing anything, you're not hitting the turret.
