...maps are getting pretty large and (necessarily) visually cluttered (talking about the in-flight map).
So I'm flying tonight and some guy calls out on channel 2: "Need help at A195!".
Maybe a couple of simple commands...
.vector (field #) = puts a vector off your 'current position aircraft icon' pointing to the field you enter.
.hl base (field #) = puts the icon and # in a different color so you can pick it out of the clutter easier.
...I know the 'to do' list is really big with AH2 coming up. Just ideas. They may be really easy to implement, but I wouldn't know I'm not a coder.

Complaint?

I think its a really good idea!
Ive been wanting it myself since the introduction of big maps.
And I dont think that every new thread start must be a complaint.
Or does it have to be, Laz?

The new, large maps must have a consistent numbering system or chaos ensues. The only real complaint I have about Trinity map is the numbering scheme -- there isn't one.
All maps should be numbered left to right, top to bottom or perhaps a scheme for locating a field as indicated in this thread.

Agreed.
I look forward to more maps, and thanx to the map makers for their hard work.

I would also suggest that along with this you get .vector (playerid) that puts a static vector to that player (your side only) on the clipboard map that stays until you hide the map; there have been a number of times when I've been in a GV defending a field and gotten a call from someone in a plane about incoming GVs near them, and then had to play '20 Questions' to get them to cough up where they are relative to the field...

I support this vector idea, especially if it points me to my fridge when I type in .vector beer. :D
On the more serious side, I think this is a good idea.
