Title: Aircraft data
Post by: artik on February 20, 2003, 08:16:32 AM
Hi,

Does anybody know where HITECH gets all
this exectly data about the aircrafts?
There is so many information you have to have
to build realistic phisycal model as Satal AOA, Incercia Moment,
surfaces parameters,Exectly drag and prop data?

where do they get all the data and can I look on it too?

I bet they start with NACA (predecessor to NASA) and armed forces evaluations from US and other countries

There are many sources for this data and I am pretty sure that HTC will never tell you which sources they have used.

The FM and how it was constructed and which information was fed in would need to be kept secret to protect their product.

I've seen threads in engineering newsgroups where programmers are seeking primary documents on particular aspects of a given plane (say the instantaneous roll rate of a P-47D).  The programmers say they need some evidence to justify modeling the plane in a particular way...
