Title: Rumour 1.03 this Friday?
Post by: HaHa on June 14, 2000, 05:46:00 PM: This is not a "when" question but more like a "is it" question. Rumour in the arena was possibly this Friday..

So is this friday a possibility or are we looking at the end of this month? To make the anwering "easier" here are the choices:

soon - this Friday or soon thereafter
awhile - end of month
er.. *cough* - next month

Easy ain't it, and it'll make a lot of us really happy so we can schedule around the game we love... such as ditching the in-laws (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

If we say we're going to release by a certain date, there's really no reason to doubt us yet. When we've made those statements, we've come through on them.

As to the former case, it's unlikely we'll go down that road anymore. It's a lot easier to give folks our worst case scenario than to deal with getting raked over for what we're trying to accomplish, even when we succeed at it. We release our new versions as soon as they're ready. We don't hold onto new versions and let them gather dust just so we can have an accurate prediction of when it will come out. As soon as it's ready, you get it hot of the compiler.

I know it's going to be in 1.03 but until it's out I'm not having much fun playing, actualy I think I'll just wait until 1.03 to log on again.. but it's such a long wait. would it have been so much trouble to bring out a win2k patch earlier?

I think in the past most releases have come out Friday haven't they? It doesn't really matter to me but my work might suffer if it comes out in the middle of the week (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Friday releases may have happened in the past and will probably happen in the future, but they're not our preference. It basically means we have to babysit things the following weekend and perhaps do an update if there's a problem. It's much easier to deal with that stuff midweek, but neverless, we still do Friday releases.

I'm the technical director of a design/internet company myself..never release anything on fridays, or be prepared to work the weekend.. or you might just hate the project, dump it on friday and sleep for 3 days.. ;-)

But... I'm also a psychologist and I think what Pyro is trying to tell us in his own cryptic way is that they have set the target for this wednesday... taking bets now;-)
