Title: Remedies for AH Burnout
Post by: Honch on February 21, 2003, 11:21:06 AM
We all get it.  You know what I'm talking about.
When you get to flying too much.  Or you start to check your stats twice a day.  Or generally you just start to take the game (and yourself) too seriously.  You know what I'm talking about.

AH Burnout

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to try in the MA to help ease the symtoms?

Here are some of the things I like to do to keep it fun.

1. Shoot off all of your ammo at take-off, then go into a furball and start ramming.

2. Try to De-Ack a Carrier Group.

3. Park your plane in an enemy hanger and wait for some base-porker on your team to come rocket it.

4. Attempt to land a 163 on a Carrier (thanks for this one goaly)

Surely there are more so hopefully y'all can help - 'Cause I got a bad case of Burnout these days!

I'd like to help but unfortunately I'm so burned out I haven't flown at all in a long time..

I've been playing other games with friends

UT2003 Deathball
Motocross madness 2
Links2003
DOD still good
GPL

plenty of stuff to play with and IL2's new incarnation is gold March 4th

I previously went to CT and flew only stuka but even that didn't help a whole lot..

only advice I can give is do everything you do not normally do, fly the planes you wouldn't normally fly and don't keep your goals the same as they are normally.

try to join some events maybe..

you know all of this already tho I'm sure. :)

Now, that is very good advice!  See my announcement in the Special Events Announcements forum for what is coming in the next week - or click the Calendar at the top of this page.  There are a lot of events to choose from....  :D

Fly to a base that is under attack wait untill the town ack is down. Then bailout over town walk around in chute in town and watch all the planes splod trying to kill the town. Never done it myself but I saw some one do it a while ago. Was kinda funny there is a frndly chute in the town that eveyone could see yet plane after plane come in pulls the trigger and blows up.

I've done that!!  Was a hoot...sat there till the base was captured and got a "bailed successfully" with 4 proxy kills from idiot defenders hitting buildings trying to shoot me! :D

I saw someone fly a sector over to a furball inverted the whole way.  That was a bored player.

Try landing a fully loaded Ar-234 with bombs on a CV.  This one is fun and tense especially when soemoen turns the cv as your making your approach.

One other thing I like to do is take a strato fighter to their HQ at 35 k and watch the bar grow red as they up to try and destroy you.  Amazing how fast that 152 is up there.  You can fly around for a good time and tie up a few resources doign it by yourself.  I have only done this a coupe times and was fun reading the text buffer about them wanting me to come down.

Flying through hangers.
Flying naked while flying through hangers
Flying Naked with girlfriend/wife/next door neighbor on your lap flying through hangers.

Dunno these are things I do it seems to help.

Now hold on I didnt say I had done this I said I saw someone do it. Please dont turn my words around and get some flame fest started on me again. It was prolly some newb that didnt know any better. The funny parts was watching vets fire rockets drop bombs and shoot guns at a town that clearly had a frendly chute in it.
