Title: What to do with a bad online shop in US
Post by: Vulcan on February 22, 2003, 05:48:14 PM
Well, late last year I ordered some stuff from http://www.radar-guys.com and had a few issues, they double charged my cc and screwed up the shipping. That all got corrected, however one item was faulty, DOA. I returned it got POD and they acknowledged return. Last I heard they sent it to the manufacturer and it'd take a 'week'.

Now they ignore my emails, faxes, and phone messages.

If I wanted to complain about them, get someone to throw bricks through their window, and such... is there anyone in the US like that (we have a Commerce Commision in NZ).

They're located here: Returns 7399 N. Shadeland, No 119 Indpls. IN 46250 USA

cheers. Although I'm starting to think the best option is too place another order on them, and when it arrives tell my cc company they've double charged me again for the 'replacement'.

The Better Buisness Bureau is just a watchdog organization, they really don't do anything except keep a database of complaints filed against companies and rate them accordingly.

The Attourny General's office is your only real chance, but you're not looking at a huge issue here... so that may not help.

Wish I had better news for you, but I don't.  Its the curse of the internet and why I prefer to do my shopping locally.  I've had bad luck with a company locally, but I've been able to drive there and look at the store owner face to face when it happend... and the problem was resolved.

Don't wait long Vulcan.  You have 30 days to dispute any credit card charges.

The dispute is a good thing to do as it alerts the merchant bank.  The merchant bank gets too many disputes and they will pull the plug on the company.
