can't you revert to the saved point before you installed it with 'system restore'

There is a DX Buster that works great.

Used it myself to recover from DX9.

Did  a search & found it for you.

does dx9 hate xp? it seems fine for M.E. solved all my rundll errors

wierd..friend of mine has a 3 yr. old AMD athlon 750 (clocked to 900 or so) latest gforce card, 512 meg,recently switched to xp pro after a fan fell apart and wrecked his hd. it loves dx9.hasn't seen any errors involving it. just the ones you get 'cause computers are stupid:rolleyes:

Be careful when messing with DirectX.  I tried removing the most current version a couple years ago.  Used a third party util (unfortunetly I forget which one) anyway it messed up my system pretty good, took a few days to get it running again.

didn't work.. won't get rid of dx9 :(
says something about not being able to back up the registry (repeatedly) and never gets rid of it..

back to square one
