Title: Sidewinder Pro hat...only getting 4 views

What am I doing wrong?  I've gone into stick settings and tried to get my new Sidewinder Pro set up so the hat gets 8 views, but I can only get 4 out of it.  What am I missing?

is the hat 8-way?  are you making sure to click "set  button" for each one, and then when you're done clicking "ok" ?

also, double check in setup to make sure your stick is being recognized properly, if it's not you'll need to re-install dx.

if it's only a 4-way, you'll need to map a button to toggle view sets back and fourth bewteen 1 and 2...

It is definitely an 8-way hat and I thought I had set things up right, but I will try again.   The stick seems to be recognized all right...?

Are you new ?
cause I'm unsure but I think you need to map the "oblique/diagonale" view by yourself in the mapper.

yes, he does if he hasn't... and to click apply for each, then ok when he has them all set.

Yes, I'm new.  I did go into the stick mapping setup and thought I was doing what I needed to do.  I will try again tonight when I get time.

I flew AW and WBs for about 6 years, but have been away for the last 5 years or so.  Downloaded AH and am very impressed.  Hoping to get online again soon.

Is there a condensed source of info about AH somewhere?  I appreciate any pointers.

Thanks for the links.  I finally got the 8-way hat to work.  It was me not understanding exactly what to do.
