..."Crack Cocaine" would be more accurate IMHO.
Very addictive. Very expensive. Leaves you feeling used when it's all over.
But you still want more!
(cost me 700+ perkies this weekend)

damn thing i love to hate it.
lost 1000 perkies on the damn thing so far.

Flew it for free on Friday. 7/0 k/d but can't afford to fly it at the price atm. Gotta brush up on my B pony skills to keep racking up perkies... Need another fix soon... Need it bad...

I rarely see the things. I expected to all those guys that have gobs of perks flying these things constantly...I was wrong :)
-
HB never HO a 109F with gondolas.
I didn't had anything to lose... ;)
-
You!
I wasn't HOing ya, just wasn't paying enough attention to effectively avoid ya.
Nice gunnery.

Tangled with Mitsu in one this morning. I was in a pony with a couple of other 412er's. He got two of us (myself included) before I pinged his engine (after I reupped). Wail and I chased him across 3 sectors. :D
I just hope Mitsu doesn't have many perkies left...

You guys didn't hear Kirin over Roger Wilco yet... I dunno how a man can drool, yell, laugh, sweat, scream & babble at the same time ;)
I hear you've made one happy guy there, heh Kirin :D

When 1.08 came out, I thought the place would be crawling with 262's, to date I have not seen one, except for mine :) which I lost, when a mossie, killed his throttle and accidentally rammed me :(
However I've been cruisin around a little bit in a 262 and I find it hard to see how anything could even get close to killing it, assuming the driver keeps it fast. I mean there's no way anythings gonna catch this baby.
With this in mind, I wonder why there aren't more around?

Well I have seen relatively a lot of them, yet I killed none :( And lost one :D
-
How fast does the 262 climb up to 30k, and how does it perform once it is there?
Seems like it would be the tailor-made solution to bust up a big high-alt formation of Buffs and Ponies.

crack cocaine is right.....blew almost 1000 perkies on the damn thing.......and i still took another one up

Make that 900.
Took a 262 up last night with pimpjoe. Flew up north to combat the knight hordes, Did some B&Z work, got about 6 kills. I noticed my fuel getting low and started heading south. Got about halfway home and saw a low spit and 190. Pimp and I B&Zed 'em to death, my fuel was really low now, so I headed straight to my field. Had enough fuel for the landing with no second chance. I'm coming in a little too hot, so I zig-zag with full rudder to burn energy. I set her down and hit the brakes hard. Couldn't stop on the runway, coast about a hundred yards into a Palm grove, I slow enough to turn and my Jumo's suck the last bit of jet fuel and go kaput on me.
There I am sitting in my Messerschmidt just off the end of the runway. I get pimpjoe to bring me fuel in an M3. Doesn't work. Only for vehicles I guess. I have to abandon my expensive 262 in the palm grove and leave it to the salt air and sand.
:(
Any rooks wanna do some 262 wingin' tonight?

Damn - consumed 3 of em so far... 1 lost in CTD (HT, please reconsider loss of so many perkies in a programm/system failure), 1 lost in killshooter (DAMN Glasses - a squadmate even!!) and one in collision with other 262 (of course he flew own unscarthed)... oth I glided 2 home so far - once outta fuel, once oil shot up... ;)
Now I am all outta perkies... uuuuuuuaaaaah - need... more... I have to... 262 - arrrrrghh... speed... perkies - %*"&/ more now... gimme

LOL
Another mthing that is funny to me. EVERY 262 kill gets reported online. I thinks its hilarious when they name the driver too. "haha, <insert name> you just lost 200 perkies" You cant just go reup and get mad at yourself like the other perk rides. Noooo, they gotta report that you just got shot down in the one AC that shouldn't ever get shot down

We don't need no steenkin jets. :)

Lol Hblair, was looking for you when you asked about the plane-refueling-with-m3 on channel one. :D
I gotta find Vulcan & ask him where he bought his "Assassins homeing device(Tm)" gear from...
-
Kirin is out of perkies!!! Thanks, God!!! :) :) :)
-
So that explains the fact why I kept meeting Kirin only in his ugly 190 :) He was sucked dry by a 262 :D :D

Personally I don't really like the ME262 much. Your going so fast you have very little chance of getting in an effective shot, your ammunition is slow as hell and theres stuff all available, every dweeb and his chog wants to HO you (their only real defense) and if you get past all this, you still gotta worry getting discoed and losing ya 200 perks.
I've killed 4 262's, 2 after the infamous free perk night and really its not that hard. You fly nice and level on WEP, let em think they bouncing you, at 3 - 2.5k hard manuever vertical or flat into HO position, they're going so fast they'll try to avoid the HO but it'll just put them outta plane and deny them a HO shot, bang snapshot front quarter, kapoof, ded jet.
IMO they're just expensive buff killers not true fighters.

Actually, a 262 is pretty deadly to pony-D's, typhies, etc. if flown with a wingie or two by a pilot who has the cajones (or is crazy/stupid enough to drop 2 notches of flaps and turn). The 262 can turn sharper than most pilots think, but you gotta risk your perkies to do it.
I lost another three 262's last night to stupidness. Was refueling at a large field when a spit dove through the cap and ack and pegged me as I was on the runway, I was clicking tower like a maniac, but wouldn't let me out in time. Another I lost to an HO by another 262 (thought it was an unspoken rule 262's don't HO each other! :D). I lost another hundred points when my game just decided to crash to desktop.
Oh well. Gotta fly ultra-conservatively now.
-
well there is a thread in the 56th's private forum. We are actively hunting these things. I personally am hunting rook 262's because I get tag-teamed by two of them bum's last night....

"We don't need no steenkin jets"
Yep... didn't fly em when they were free and not gonna buy one. What kinda wuss would fly one?

Maybe 99% of AH players?
Maybe I should ask what kind of banana wouldn't fly one sometimes if he got points?
(Yeah I found slang word dictionary)
-
I have about 2200 of the stupid "perk" points and have no interest in flying one. I have even less interest in seeing one in the MA. For the noveltyu value I guess it's ok but it is vastly unfair.
so i guess the type of banana who wouldn't fly one in the MA even tho he had the points is the type that doesn't care about the novelty or attention but would like a good fight.

I think those 262 is pretty easy to avoid,,,
if you see them in time that is ;) ,they come
in very very fast.

There's (at least) two ways to fly a plane like Me-262:
a) Stay safe and attack when it suits you or
b) Go low'n'dirty, fight against other planes (and fear that 25k P-51 over your perk-plane)
It's your choice but I'm sure you can have fun in Schwalbe too. Ask from HBlair or TS more about this one.
-
Havent tried one out yet,,,,,dont think i have the nerve ;)

No offense lazs, but I find the fact that you always have to qualify perks with "stupid" or "idiotic," and that you always gave to put quotes around it (as if it were unofficial, had no real name, or was nonexistent) infinitely amusing.
:D
