So what's the issue this time? That we suck and can't hold our bases because people want to furball while enemy sneaks in from our backdoor?;):D

Damn fine job on Trinity Rooks. Was proud to see how many were working toward a common goal last night.

As a Bishop I gotta say the game has became much more enjoyable since the numbers have evened out somewhat and Rooks have became a definite force to be reckoned with. Good job guys.

WHATS A ROOK ????? :D
-
S!
As a Rook pilot I sometimes feel quite alone in the skies crowded with Bishes and Knights, but as trying to take it positively: it for SURE makes my SA better ;)

Am I the only one to find this thread VERY illustrative, as of how Rooks behave usually? :D

>>81st and CAFs.... what'd we ever do without you guys.. <<
Dunno Kweassa. Only a few of us CAF were flying here before our entire squad came over from AW. It was the best move we ever made. We brought some concepts over with us from AW, where many of us flew for a country that was forever getting hammered by the other 2 countries. So, we decided to get organized in cooperation with other squads. Up to that time we had prolly the best sticks in the game but no teamwork to speak of. We decided to send out invitations to all other squads in our country to show up on a sunday night and attack one of our nmez. We did, it was successful and fun, so we continued it. Hehe, Rookland is still very much like our old AW country was, but now whenever we get together in numbers we tend to drive our nmez before us :D
When I started in AH, Rooks were getting the watermelon kicked out of us, and it got old real fast. Many of our AW squads had already formed squads in AH before the main group moved over.
I think this has had a good effect on AH in general. I never flew WB with any regularity so, I cannot comment on what the community dynamics there were like.

Thanks for the recognition Kweassa.
I believe the 81st has the same "team" philosophy as the CAF, Nightmares, and for that matter, all the squads involved in RJOs. Many a time in the recent past we were outnumbered two to one by both Knights and Bishops, and both were racing each other to reset us, so survival required that Rook squads work together whenever possible. This teamwork has carried over to enable Rooks to now trounce the enemy when even numbered and be unstoppable with higher numbers. I am not saying we are better, just that we work better as a team.
As a squad the 81st spends most of its time wherever our country needs us most. We strive to "win the war" or at least to try not to be the ones beaten for the reset whenever and however possible. We spend more time attacking enemy bases or slowing their attacks on us than we do furballing. Though maybe not as much short term fun I think this is the MAs ultimate goal, therefore we make it the 81st main objective. That is and will remain the 81st squad philosophy in Aces High and I have to tell you it is very nice to be appreciated for the effort our members put forth to accomplish this.

Yesterday at Mindanao..A few of our pilots in LLv34 took off in FW190F-8's to attack Bish fields' fuel dumps to slow down their attack at least some. Great fun to slash through lines and drop the bombs on the hordes of Bishes who looked like "WTF?!FW190F-8's?!How dare they?!" Result: An enormous gaggle of enraged Bishes chasing a few FW190's ;) Rooks still can cause some stir it seems :D

The seven FW190's otw to A3 at 20k certainly slashed thru the rarified air above the 5-6k Bishop "horde" capturing V64.
More "lol" than rage on Ch 2, no offense.
Perhaps you refer to a different sortie.
-
I'm sorry Ripsnort, but you must first go through "Rook Hell Week" before being accepted as a full fledged "Master of the Sheep".
Step 1 - Send money to Midnight Target (this will be held in a "lock box" for future use by retired Rooks)
Step 2 - Still thinking on this step. Maybe a repeat of step 1 would be appropriate.
Step 3 - See step 2
Welcome
:)
-
Rooks don't discuss anything...being a predominantly anarchistic lot, we do whatever comes naturally or seems like it might be fun at the time. Welcome to Rookland Rip, don't even think about trying to change that, it might spark a rebellion. ;)

VAQ..we were those 7 FW190's ;) Attacked fuel on A3 and A4 to slow down the durned stream of Bishes ;) :D On the later run we really were tailed by a persistent gaggle of Bishes, of course La7's and Ponies. Made it home tho...And I do not take it as offense what You said :D
