Wow...lots and lots of really good ideas.  So I sifted through them.  Laughed at some.  Cried at others.  And threw up over one.  But when it all settled down I found these three the most appealing to me personally.  I know which one is my favorite but I said I would let you guys decide....so without further ado, please vote for which one you like best, of these three callsigns.


Vagabond - First mentioned by Weazel


Box Car Willie - First mentioned by Aac


Tumbleweed - First mentioned by Muckmaw


Of course each of these will have to be altered slightly to fit the requirements of AH, but hopefully one will be usable.

If I could have made a poll I would have, but since I can't, I won't.  So just post which one you like the most and I'll let the thread run a few days and then I will become whicever gets the most votes.

Vagabond would be my choice of the 3, if its still available.

Why not go with a derivative of "Hobo", like "H-Bo" or "H_bo" or "H_BO"?  Your running joke could be that you're too poor to afford the luxury of having two "o"s.

I'm biased. I would go with tumbleweed.

It's symbolic, yet still maintains the devil may care, hoboesqe attitude. It goes with the wind, with no particular goal in mind, lonely and desolate, yet undeterred and independent.

Geez, I'm thinking too much.

Hobo, been thinking about it. I like the sound of "travlnman" Keeps the spirit and mistique alive that is the name hobo. :)
