Out of boredom, I've decided to start a new thread called "Name that Song."
The basic concept is to see how long this thread can go. One person posts a FEW lyrics (maybe a line or two) from a song. Any song (WITH ENGLISH LYRICS) or genre is welcome. The song will remain for 2 days or until correctly named (BAND and NAME required). The individual responsible for naming the correct song will then post a few lines from a song of their choosing. If you win, then I'll mail you a cookie.
I DON'T CARE IF YOU THINK IT'S CRAP, YOU WILL LIKE IT. :D
I'll start it off: (its a cupcake)
Took me in and you drove me out
Yeah, you had me hypnotised
Lost and found and turned around
By the fire in your eyes
[/i]
Now lets try to keep this going for a while... could be another way to beat the boredom.

Ozzy
Mama I'm coming home
(btw this was playing when I got out of the army :)
"Sun streaking cold
an old man wandering lonely.
Taking time the only way he knows. "
-
Tull... Aqualung.
Can't think of anything at the moment, but this is what's playing off the MP3 list...
When I'm called off I got a sawed off
Squeeze the trigger and bodies are hauled off

Eazy is his name and the boy is comin
Straight Outta Compton
is a brother that'll smother your mother
and make your sister think I love her
Dangerous motherf----- raisin hell
And if I ever get caught I make bail
See, I don't give a f---, that's the problem
I see a motherf----- cop I don't dodge him
But I'm smart, lay low, creep a while
And when I see a car pass, I smile...
-
IceCube and Eazy E respectively, from Straight Outta Compton.
diddly YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!
diddly YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!
diddly YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!
diddly YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME!

Insane in the brain, you get the bullet and
A hole in your head
A hole in your f----- head
A f----- hole in your head
In your head!
A hole in the head, a hole in the head
You get a hole in the head (a hole in the head)
in your motherf----- head
Huh!
In your head
A hole in the head, a hole in the head

One-time tried to come in my home,
take my chrome, I said "Yo, it's on.
Take cover son, or you're ass-out.
How you like my chrome?", then I watched the rookie pass out.
Didn't have to blast him, but I did anyway...
Hahaha... that young punk had to pay.
-
"She looked over at me with a glazed eye And some bovine perspiration on her upper lip area
And she said...
Just get me wasted
An' you're half-way there
'Cause if my mind's tore up
Then my body don't care
I rubbed my chinny-chin-chin
An' said my-my-my
What sort of thing
Might this lady get high upon?"

I was gonna go for "A Hole In Your Head" but I fear perhaps that is too subtle... ;)

Oct,
Your song is "You got me spinning".. forget the artist name it's from the 80s
Funked up is listening to some Snoop doggie.. hey thought you didn't like rap.. Other one you have there is from Ice Tea... (guessing)
-
Yo, it's time for me to pump up the volume
no problem the records revolvin'
Evil's the mixer, I'm the rap trixter
paparazzis on the bum rush for pictures
Ice, coolin' yo colder than ever
punk executioner, E, pull the lever
rotate the wax, then cut and axe the tracks
push up the levels, 'til the red lights max
don't try to size up
you better wise up
to the rap criminals we're on the rise up
we're sellin' dope til we're succeeded
dope beats and lyrics, no beepers needed
-
or:
Passed the Pub that saps your body
and the church who'll snatch your money
the Queen is dead, boys
and it's so lonely on a limb
-
What do I get out of this?
I always try, I always miss
One of these days you'll go back to your home
You won't even notice that you are alone
One of these days when you sit by yourself
You'll realise you can't show off without someone else
In the end you will submit
It's got to hurt a little bit
This is fun.
-
one more, metal ballad
You know I'm a dreamer
But my heart's of gold
I had to run away high
So I wouldn't come home low
Just when things went right
It doesn't mean they were always wrong
Just take this song and you'll never feel
Left all alone
-
I'll take that hole in the head at this point Horn :)

eh? Coudl be a coincidence they have the same words..
You spin me round by Dead or Alive?
(you spin me right round baby right round... blah blah blah)
It should be Ozzy's "Mama I'm coming Home"

Rap sucks, they just steal beats that are already hits and call them their own. a beat makes the hit not the words.

Certainly, there are a great many that simply sample from past recordings, but there are plenty of original artists out there.

Rap sucks,
I agree.
I think it was invented so people with absolutely no musical talent could make money too.

very few rappers make their own samples, most original samples are made by people and sold to the recording studios. they know what will be a hit before they even write lyrics because of the beat.
